Gold Lettering on 116613lb Blue Dial

With the new 126613lb, a lot of people have been commenting that they like prefer the white lettering. As an owner of the 116613lb, I thoroughly enjoy the gold writing. I think it matches better. Why does the gold lettering get hate? What are ya'lls thoughts?

Not sure I've seen the same threads as you. From what I've seen, most prefer the gold lettering.

I like the change, not that I didn't like the gold previously.

I have the gold and like it, I think I would also like the white not really an issue for me either way, some try to disrespect the previous 11 series though.

I love the gold writing on my 5 digit and dislike the white lettering on the 12. From what I’ve gathered reading threads about the 12 the ones that like the white over gold say it makes the dial pop more. ymmv and because this thread is missing pics.....

I’m kinda either way even though I don’t own a bluesy. I have long liked and preferred honestly the yellow gold lettering, but the more time goes by and my eyes adjust to the change the more accepting of the white lettering and the more positive I feel about the change. I think I still prefer the gold lettering slightly however.

It seems more like 50/50 to me. I'm not an owner but I kind of like the white pop on the blue the more I see it in photos. I also thought the first white script pics were a mistake upon release. Either way it's still a beauty.

It is either who owns the watch likes their own color the best, toss a coin to those that don’t own it. I have the 12, was on the waiting list for the 11, could have gotten either, but just went for 12 because it was newer and like the case shape better. I don’t really care either way about the color of the text.

Both are good but the gold lettering got me interested in the Bluesy to start with. I snagged the 116613 in July. It is amazing imo...

Some here seem to like the white dial print because it is new and different. Remember, the dial script on TT and YG Subs was gold for decades. I own a 116618 LB and love the gold script. To each his own!

It doesn't matter really. Like what you like and buy what you like.

I have the 116613LB and I think the gold text works in terms of subtlety, 3D depth and overall colour/texture balance. I don't think the white text on the new model works with the TT aesthetic and blue dial. The good news is that there is now something for everyone.

Do people really "hate" fonts on watches? Is it possible to feel hateful towards something so trivial and meaningless? Hate is such an ugly emotion with uglier manifestations. It's saddening to see the term "hate" used so much in this forum.

Picked up the new Bluesy a couple of weeks ago love the watch especially the dial amazing, I do think the white lettering makes the dial stand out a lot better but that’s only my own opinion, just a matter of personal choice at the end of the day.

I think white makes the blue pop more. It just works! (Not that gold doesn’t, it certainly does too)

I’m in the group that think it’s gives it more “pop”, but I now own it too so take that with a grain of salt. I did like the gold lettering before the white lettering.

The white lettering nudges it towards Smurf or Pelagos country. I much prefer the gold.

I think most prefer the gold not the white including myself.

The white text was the first thing that bothered me with the new model as soon as I saw it

I don’t mind white txt on a blue dial I just don’t like the thicker font, and that doesn’t apply just to this ref.

To each his own. Mark me down for gold lettering. I made my choice. Did not want the 126618LB. I went with 116618LB yesterday. Personal preference. No right or wrong.

IRL I don’t even see - or rather - pay any attention to the lettering.
Whichever

I prefer the gold.

I think it ties the bigger picture together than the white letters.

Both are neat, both if they were identical watches, identical prices, white vs gold, I pick gold, no contest.

I find the gold hard to see and it almost looks like it is fading away. White for me, but again regardless the new case is much improved.

Does the gold lettering actually receive Hate? That's news to me.

I reckon the gold works better too.
The white works better on the ‘mono’ tone of the black sub... but white on the blue on the bluesy isnt quite right imo.
Bloody beautiful piece none the less..

The gold looks better IMO, but I prefer the case of the 12 series significantly more so I will live with the white text when the time comes to pick one up.

This video really sold me. Check out how clean the 12 dial looks starting at 3:00. So fresh and crisp! Especially at 3:41. Rolex is so legible and pops off the blue dial.

I like both but definitely give the white a slight edge. Cleaner and newer. But I DEFINITELY like the fat lugs much better. Overall, I like the 116613lb better.
