Newer 216570 dial markers stained/oxidized. Is this normal?

Hey guys,

Buddy of mine was messing around looking at my 216570 with a 30x loupe and noticed my hour markers have weird white stains on the black borders? Is this normal? Watch is authentic (purchased from a very trusted seller, and authenticated by RSC Toronto). This staining is on the majority of them, to varying degrees. I have never swam with the watch, and after some warranty work at RSC they waterproofed it.

Can you see it with the naked eye? No! So quit worrying about nothing.

Is that simply the illumination material on those markers? You are looking at it at 30X mag.

I think that is lume flakes. Probably 100 atoms wide. Hehe

It’s not the white gold tarnished, an Explorer II has black markers anyway. There’s a faint white looking dot on the actual lume which could be just a reflection or a slight variation in the lume itself that I’ll bet isn’t visible with the naked eye at all. It’s a big non issue.

I’d say avoid looking at it under a 30x loupe. Nothing is perfect. Including Rolex.

As many on here will say using a Loupe on a Rolex you are asking for trouble.

Rolex IS NOT a brand that produces perfection in terms of workmanship. They are not Grand Seiko or Lange etc...

Damn you guys are right. I think I gotta take a chill pill. I don't know why I do this to myself lol. To make me sound less crazy it even shows up on a 10x loupe haha. Might have to call this a night.

LOL - Even a 10X loupe on a Rolex is asking for trouble. Trust me its from first hand experience. You will see things that you 100% do not like.

DO NOT DO IT.

Do your sanity a favor and toss that loupe into the trash. They cause nothing but ulcers and unhappiness for watch owners.

The white dial does have black, yes, but he didn't say either way and the pics won't load on Tapatalk. Agree. It is no big deal.

This is your best advice regarding the loupe.

Good call, OP.
Toss the loupe and call it a night.
That’s an awesome watch.
Enjoy.

Better option throw all loupes away, as they will and can be a watch owners worst enemy.
