Nice watch...I was in to our local AD recently and looking to pick this OP up too to go along with my Sub. Nice clean classsy watch for th eoffice or formal nights when the Sub may be a little too much.

I like Rolex, but I do not like the story to be misrepresented.
It is said that Tenzing wore a Rolex given by the head of the expedition, Colonel Jonh Hunt. I do not believe it. Simply marketing.

In this ad he admits he "carried" it. I don't know if that means he did not wear it. In this case, truth in advertising can also allow the reader to misinterpret. I don't think the ad answers whether he "wore" it or "carried it."

Interesting. Rolex is stating it was an OP and showed the actual watch to a friend of mine when on a private tour there a year ago. She did mention that he had with him another watch which I believe was a Smith. Rolex was seeking to test the OP which was shipped back to Rolex shortly after returning from the expedition. Hard to know who to believe these days.
