These are all very useful comments. I’m not sure what the weight is, and yes, I’ve considered the Rose Gold Daytona with either the chocolate or black face. A couple of years ago they were available at AD’s, not anymore.

If my AD gave me 20% off, I wouldn’t hesitate, they don’t discount, possible 5%, but no more.

I did a quick eBay search and there’s less than 1/2 dozen all way over retail, asking as much as $40k, which prompted me to post this question.

I think I’m going to hold off for a bit and see how the market pans out. Current pricing might not be the best indicator being so close to the holidays...thanks again for the feedback.

If you want resale value, buy stainless steel. If you want to be set apart of the other 90% of Rolex wearers, buy PM. I’m curious how much of a discount you will get on this piece. Good luck

I’ve added an extra link to mine. And the weight still doesn’t bother me.
I wore mine in Florida for 2 weeks. Got back home, put one of my SS sports watches on and it felt like I was wearing an aluminium watch lol

Exactly. I would look for the best discount tax free, buy and forget about it.. Just wear it in good health!

Heavy and that weight is really expensive, but what a watch! Absolutely love that one. One of my favorites of their current PM offerings.

Grey market dealers are only holding prices high because it's the newest watch on the block, don't fall for it. If somebody wants this piece it's easily ordered from Rolex.

Discounts may be harder to come by because of the newness but unless you have a burning desire, I would wait until the price settles where you want it to as it will eventually.

Stunning watch for sure! Agree this is definitely a watch you can obtain. As far as PM watches it seems the white gold Daytona on oysterflex is one of a very few that is tougher to get.

Not all AD´s order that special piece. Not hard to find, but a bit hard to sell. Loses value quickly for the secondary market as soon as you walk out the door. Personally don´t like full gold or ful everose. I love the combo with SS IOW the TT CHNR.

I think that's a good idea. If you are going into this purchase in hopes the value retention is solidly present, then you're likely going to be disappointed. It's still a pretty new model, so I'd give it some time before you start seeing them regularly in display cases. At that point, ADs (your own or others) will likely be more negotiable on price if you start talking about discounts.

It’s not the easiest watch to find . The NYC Boutique has only
gotten one in this year.

You’ll get used to the weight after you wear it a few times. Before you know it, you won’t even notice it on.

The title of this thread reads like it would be the title of a watch themed porno movie....

Thanks all for the feedback. I don’t sell my watches, still have my first Rolex bought in 1994, Rolex Explorer 11 white face, paid under $2k new that’s appreciated, I also have my first PM Rose Gold President and paid a lot for that’s greatly depreciated, both purchased at AD. I’m not looking at resale, just don’t like seeing equity take such a significant dip. The reason i posted this thread, is, it seems as if what Rolex is doing with their marketing strategy is changing the way we look at buying watches. Point in case, I’ve personalky known a couple of watch collectors buy Rolexs because of the “hype” and thinikg they had to have the watch, such as the Hulk, later regretting the purchase. On the positive side, in my opinion, Rolex improved on brand recognition and ADs rewarding loyal customers. I think Rolex is now constantly hitting home runs.

Having said all that, I threw this question out their because I thought it might be possible that certain PM will now hold value, and I value the honest feedback this Fourm generates.

Thanks again.
