Have seen worse. Certainly wouldn’t but it if it’s being considered - so many better examples out there.

Pics are not great...some "fish eye" going on with the lugs holes it appears. Not to mention the watch appears dirty. Surprised they do not clean these up before selling.
I would pass on this and look for a better example. Plenty out there.

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being absolutely awful?

What does “fish eye” mean in regards to the lug holes?

Material is taken from poor polishing jobs that lowers the level of material around the lug hole. It should be flat across the hole and not indented. Almost like it is recessed--should not be that way. This is not that bad, but I can see it.

The pictures seem worse than the polishing. Tough to judge the polishing. ;-)

Looks ok from what I can see. Not terrible. I'd wear it. People here are just nuts about polishing.

This. But that said, it doesn't look horrific. But can't really tell.

Sorry for bad pics and thanks for all the feedback. My opinion, after having inspected it in person, is that there was a not so great polishing job done which rounded the edges a little. Also, the lugs on the crown side are noticeably thinner. That being said I don't think the case is completely ruined. I think it's perfectly wearable and a a polish by a competent watchmaker will make it just fine (thought it'll never be perfect).

They're supposed to be by design.

Ok, so maybe it's not so bad. I think I might go for it and just send it off to RSC right away to clean up the polishing. It has box & papers and even after paying RSC, the price will be cheaper than a lot of others out there.

From what I can tell by the pics it’s not too bad. If you can get us some better pics though it’d help a lot. Some good pics of the lug holes and each individual lug.

Very easy watch to find in pristine condition. I wouldn’t take anything over polished personally.

Just an update on this. I had it serviced by RSC, wore it for a few months, then sold it at a small profit in summer 2019. I sold it because the crown guards just seemed to be polished down to little nubs and it drove me crazy. Here are pics of how the polishing looked after it went to RSC.

I already purchased it 2 years ago and then sold it 1.5 years ago! I agree it was a bit overpolished but I was able to wear it for a while and still turn a small profit so it all ended up ok.

I asked 2 years ago. This is just an update so folks can see how RSC ameliorated the poor polishing job.

Polish it a little more and you'll have a Yacht-Master case.
