But from a technical standpoint (modern movement, great power reserve), looks standpoint and Rolex history standpoint, the Datejust is iconic and is recognized as so by most.
'The reason' is that many buyers follow trends and have not developed enough personal style to guide them in their purchases so they buy what's accepted. You can see this by looking at some of the collections that are presented on the forum, too much of the same.....The collections that are most interesting have diversity and include models that are off the radar....What I love about the Datejust is the wide diversity available...something for everybody!

After the Sub, the DateJust is the most iconic Rolex and I'm not sure number 2 is all that close.

OP your DJ looks great, congratulations.
Friend, I agree with you. Some of these things look like a guy walking around with a "Tonka Truck" on his wrist!!

Wow, this thread is making me sooooo crave that blue 41 I ordered at the end of January. Sometimes I can take it, but sometimes the wait is friggin' deadly...

If I could only own 1 watch it would be a DJ 36. Its the perfect GADA watch

Its also the best bang per buck Rolex. I like how its not as hyped up I got mine for a good price

I have a DJ II with blue dial but since I also have a PP sports watches I will probably give this one to my father (he also has a much better wrist for this one) and get fluted/jubilee/wimbledon or (I need to see it in person) two-tone with champagne dial. Maybe the second one to celebrate 40th birthday and officially moving to 'dad' territory lol.
