Does anyone else think Patek had the best W&W 2021?

I don't own a Patek but damn they had some very nice releases this year.

I'm curious, what did you like so much? Was there any release that you found to be unexpected?

I agree, I think Patek did what they do best this year. My favorites so far are:

1. 5711 in olive green - I just LOVE the simple, yet beautifully calming olive dial. This will go down in history as one of the greatest and most desired watches ever produced from Patek, well heck, any Swiss brand for that matter.
2. 5990 in rose gold - I have always LOVED the 5990 and it's my ultimate grail watch. Now they have it in rose gold, which just make it even more interesting. Absolute king of all Nautilus'!
3. 5236P - what an amazing, clean and beautiful dress complications watch. Absolute perfection. Price is definitely not cheap, but the watch is stunning.

Patek brought the heat this year! Love it!

they did really good
the smartest move they did was discontinuing the steel 5711, have you noticed how everyone focused on the dress pieces again?
very smart

The 5236 and 6119 were the stand outs for me.

But across the board I thought all the offerings were good. Prob my least favorite was the 5711 green because green is what everyone is doing.

Great apart from the 4 year month indication which simply looks odd and cramped.

Agreed! I loved the VC releases more, but the sizes are just too large. If they released the Overseas 3 hander at 39-40mm and 9mm or thinner, they would absolutely fly out of the display cases I think.

That and them launching all the sports watches first, getting this out of the way and then hyping Monday's event.

Vacheron had some nice pieces but limited editions with price points mere mortals cannot obtain. They should incorporate this design language into their current lineup, reduce the SKUs and I think they would really be more like PP and less like Omega.

I bought 3 Vacherons from the new releases...keep your eyes out in a couple months more cool stuff is coming out...plus their service is beyond incredible.

I think one time patek sent me a vest type coat thing...one time...and I've spent big money on Pateks...Vacheron, Lange and Omega put Rolex and Patek to shame with service.

Exactly the reason I haven't moved forward with purchasing one. They've killed it the last few years but I think the size is whats keep them from taking off (or being favored by the masses)

+3. Patek showed well, and VC just crushed. Here’s a simple (er, complicated) reason why ...

Yes, some nice chrono releases, Patek was pretty stellar with the two Nauts and a nice fleet of Calatravas.

Had a chance to see all the new releases in real today, and to me, it wasn’t a great year for PP novelties.

The one standout for me was the 6119r. Perfect dimensions and a great reinterpretation of the classical Calatrava. Was expecting to prefer the 6119g, but this one disappointed a bit. Not that legible while the rose with cream dial was just stunning.

I had very high expectations for the 5711 green. However, it is hardly green in real. A greyish green that is not very inspriring, and unfortunately a lot worse in real than on pictures. I guess Patek tried hard to keep demand somewhat low by not making the dial truly special : )

The new PC isn’t my thing either. Although the complication is a great feature, the case is too big and the date aperture too small. For many people it will not be possible to read the date, especially the typical older PP client who would buy such a watch. And the price is way too high. Lange, VC or Journe do much nicer QPs for much lower prices.

The AC was OK. The linnen dial a bit strange for a PP. It was presented to me as a ladies watch, which I thought was a bit strange as it could easily fit many men.

Was also told that 5270p will be discontinued soon and that more novelties will come, possibly already in May.

In my view the release was a mixed bag with hits (6119), misses (4947, 5236), and some in between (5711 green, 5990/1R).

I'm glad nobody seems to like the 4947. I might actually be able to get it.
