Need Advice and Insight on Nav 1461
Hello everyone,
Im new to Breitling but not too watches. I have never really looked at Breitling but recently the 1461 Navitimer has caught my eye. I see that the perpetual dials that are in English seem to be rarer than the foreign ones. Recently an a19022 caught my eye but then I saw an A19322 which was nice too. My first question is are the English dials rarer and what are the differences between the 19322 and the 19022. Also, anything I should look for or watch out for when considering a 1461. I am open to any suggestions and opinions as I know nothing about Breitling. Any help or insight is appreciated. |

I don’t know much about the specific watches, but I would think the dial languages would be reflective of relative market volumes. Since English speaking marketplace at the time these were released would have been sizeable (China was less relevant then), I'd say that the number of English dials would be sizeable too. That said, these models are always limited Editions, so we are not talking larger numbers here. The third number in the reference number (fourth alphanumeric) designates COSC certification, with 3 indicating certified. From what I can tell, the a19022 is a worldwide limited edition of 250 and the a19322 is called a 1461C and was a limited edition of 300 sold in Japan only. There are actually a number of other 1461 references, including under the Montbrillant label and also the Olympus, so the total number of Navitimer-looking semi-perpetual calendar models is probably more than you think. Finally, on what to look out for. These are highly complicated watches of a modular movement design, so factor in that servicing costs are likely to be high. |
