Help - Rolex 1603/0 service Datejust 1967
Hello,
My grandfather left me his black faced Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust (made in 1967). For the last 20 years or so it's been safety put away but recently I sent it to Rolex for servicing. The full service, replacement steel bracelet, case back and oscillating weight came to a total of £1,654 GBP. My query is that Rolex kept the old parts and bracelet. I asked the jeweller who sent the watch to Rolex for them back but was told it's not possible. Is this standard practice of Rolex to keep old/worn parts when replacing them with new? And does anyone know if I have a hope in hell of getting them back? Thanks, Sam |

Parts are supplied on an exchange basis, so no they won’t return your old parts.
If you required a part that you no longer had (for example if the bracelet or bezel was missing) the cost of the part is 50% greater. |

Is this the same watch you asked about in your other thread? The one you are looking to sell?

Yes it's the same one as the other post. I'm new to the forum and didn't realise I'd need to wait a few days before the post was approved. I assumed because I mentioned possibly selling it that admin deleted it - hence posting twice. My mistake.
Thank you for your replies. Sam |
