Watch & Bracelet Tools
Good Day Gents,
I currently have a DJII with oyster bracelet and also have a Tudor Heritage BB with steel bracelet and have leather coming for the Tudor and that got me thinking about simple tools to have on hand for upkeep like spring bar removal, band resizing etc.... so with that said is there a basic set of tools I can get for tasks like this, I doubt I will ever crack the case open but I’m thinking I can change a bracelet or add or subtract links

Amazon is your friend. Whether you want a relatively inexpensive set of tools or Bergeon. They have it all. I bought the Bergeon tweezers for bracelet removal due to the danger of scratching the lugs, but the rest of my tools are relatively inexpensive. Besides my basic tool kit I got a set of jewelers screwdrivers from Amazon in 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 mm. That should cover any screw in any watch bracelet you have.

Thanks, I don’t plan on removing the bracelet often but have a leather strap coming for my Tudor BB and don’t want to try and pry the spring bars out and scratch the bracelet, I could take to the local AD but the would be kind of a pain just for a bracelet swap a few times a year and they could also scratch it so I may choose the high dollar one

I just found these which are very similar to the Bergeon tweezers and are a lot less

I don’t have any experience with Horofix, but read mixed reviews of their stuff in general. Although Bergeon is expensive, I’ve not heard any complaints about their tools, especially the tweezers. I just chalked it up to buy once/cry once, but YMMV...good luck.

Well after I posted I did some additional searching and see where the Horofix have weak tips and tend to break/wear after a few uses so guessing the steel is not as good as the Bergeon tweezers

I think I am going to have to break down and get the proper tool, after speaking Brandon at Esslinger about the Bergeron 7825 ‘s compared to the Horofix he advised that the Horofix ones are a Chinese copy of the Bergeron ones and the tips are not as durable but do work and have an extra set of tips included so it’s a big decision for me as I won’t be swapping brackets that’s often so the Horofix ones may hold up for the few times a year I swap from steel to leather
I was able to use the included springbar tool that the aftermarket bracelet I purchased came with and did not scratch the bracelet or any part of the lugs but putting the steel back on will be another story so I’m thinking I will need the proper tool to keep me from banging my head against the wall
