5726/1A new Gradient Blue or 5712/1A
If your AD says you have a choice between 5726/1A new Gradient Blue or 5712/1A, which would you choose?

Tough choice - 5726 is the flavour of the moment but the 12 is just something special
I’d go 5712 - biased because I’m the proud owner of 1! |

5712. Unless you already have a thin Nautilus like a 5711, then would go with 5726.

This. The 5712 on my wrist is perfection. More so than the 5167 due to the low profile of the clasp. The 5726 is larger so if you have a larger wrist then maybe 5726 works better for you . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I've passed on the 5726 before the blue dial and I thought the blue dial gives it more life (not enough for me to be on the list when AD asked me upon release)....but still not a fan of the apertures on this dial with the meaningless 24 hour hand in the bottom center.....not to mention the thickness/form factor. Though I'm on the list for other Nautilus....I think I can live with 5712a as the one and only Nautilus....it's truly the best one overall.
And .. did I mention the microrotor cal 240? Pure awesome on the 5712. |

This , TS told many times how important to create thin movements to be able to make thin watches and indeed once you get used to it hard to switch to something else.

Thin watches are good but only if you don't have hairy arms, otherwise you have to manscape to see the bloody thing.

5712 any day. Slim case, PR, one of the most creative dial (intriguingly balanced despite its asymmetrical layout) and the breathtaking 240 movement. Really hard to compete with all this.

This is a good idea... 11/12 is the truest expression of the nautilus. If it was not one of these 2 watches. I would personally go for a 5990 or a 5980. The pushers on the right really balance out the thickness....

5712
I can't get over the 24 hour sub dial sitting too high on the 5726. If it sat lower in the dial and displayed the date instead of the current cutout and 24h indicator it would be perfect.

5726A is a better dial for this watch IMO, and it looks amazing on either the black leather or composite straps (latter keeps it sporty w/o the stress of scratching up the bracelet with daily wear) |

I'm confused...so are you voting for the 5726A, or 5712? :D

Main differences to consider, in my opinion, are the differences in thickness, the complication, the base movements (240 vs 324), and maybe quantity produced (or will likely be produced), amongst other considerations like pure preference, symmetry vs asymmetry, what complications you already have, or if you’d rather those complications in another reference, etc. Just wondering, why not 5726 first then 5712? I’m thinking along the lines that the 5712 is on-going, and the 5726 is a novelty and may even be short lived. Getting both would be a nice eventual goal, but if you were only offered either, which one would you pick? |
