I would definitely do it!
Not easy to come by, and the white 5711 is actually extremely beautiful.
Also I have learned to understand that there is no guarantee you will ever be offered the blue. It is much easier to swap the white for a blue should you really be keen on that, over paying grey market prices for the blue.

Out of interest when like you you have blue dials - do they get equal wrist time? or do you prefer the traditional blue?
Also which do you feel is more casual?

Depending on what the rest of your collection is, I'd move a few of those on to soften the financial blow. I moved on 3 Rolex to make way for my Nautilus. Why have a few good watches when you can have your ultimate one
thanks - yes selling these couple still leaves me with some pretty good ones and Im not one for keeping pieces I dont wear.

decision made!

I have intentionally said nothing about this as I wanted to give the white a fair amount of time to be able to compare. I’m now on vacation and will write something in the next few days...

To (briefly) answer your questions...yes, they are getting similar wrist time....and the white feels more casual to me.

That ones too good to pass on.. I'd shift some Rolex and grab that for sure. Once you've got that badboy you won't miss the Rolex.

No doubt you should pick it up!

That being said I am not 100% sure it would be a long-term keeper like the blue one is. Not fully convinced by the pics I have seen but I would certainly get it and see if it grows on me or not...

Disagree here (5711 blue is still the most spectacular one for me), but any modern 5711 is drop dead spectacular. I've owned all 3 and for me its 5711 blue > 5711 rose > 5711 white, but the difference between all 3 is like a 10/10 versus a 9.7/10 versus a 9.5/10 to me - they are all worth getting.

Sounds like you can dispose of watches you don't wear. Its a no brainer.

Its a no brainer...if you dont do it for sure you will regret it...

Buying any of the “high demand” watched at retail these days is like a receiving gift. Worst case you will be able to sell it and even make profit...

Things that could go wrong if you wait:

1) AD finds others more worthy when they come up again in the future
2) AD gets booted out of PP network
3) salesman leaves and your relationship with AD takes a hit
4) 5711 gets discontinued or price increases substantially, again

A bird in the hand....

Get the white 5711! I love mine and have never owned any other white dial watch. Pictures don't do it any justice because it's an ivory white.

Congrats

I think it is a very good decision as your AD (unless it is the Salon) is unlikely to get another one in 2019.

just to bring this thread to a conclusion... I'm about 3 weeks into ownership of this lovely 5711 piano dial
Loving it so far quite different from the rest of my collection.

330 calibre as well!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity. You don’t know if the AD will offer you a other one. Buy it and do what you have to do to make it work.

Congrats! A fair number prefer white to blue. I’m in that camp. Such a great watch.
