I’d avoid, personally... if you’re nervous already, take a step back, wait it out, and you’ll find what you’re looking for. Even if you have to pay a little more, is it worth it for the safety? My answer would be yes!

Hey people, I found this article on the R.forum about the Font style.. Might be interesting to read.. Seems that more warranty cards from Greece (client 200) have this font style.. What do you think?

Don't talk yourself into it... You have doubts, take a step back and realize there is a reason you have doubts.

What is your recourse if something is amiss? I'd assume being in another country, not much.

Think about it like this; can you find the watch from a more reputable seller for like $500 more? If yes (which it usually is), would you rather spend an extra $500 for peace of mind, or jeopardize $11k?

I will never make a purchase unless I am as close to certain as possible- you're waffling at the 11th hour, I'd say don't do it.

Your comment is offensive, you are no more likely to be ripped off by an Italian watch dealer than anyone else. To the op perusiawatches are well known watch dealers you’ll be fine.

Thanks for pointing that out to me ,I know he did . I wasn't sure if OP had maybe changed his mind on the purchase from Perusia , given some of the comments posted since 15# & that the thread has been moved to the Watch out section.

hi, I did purchase indeed from Perusia Watches in Italy. I will let you know the experience as soon as I have the Kermit. I learned quiet a lot here on TRF and now we also know that the font on Greece (client 200) warranty cards is different.
I live in Spain myself but I am from Holland. I think there is a lot of pasion in Italy about design and beautiful things like watches. The Italian collectors more or less started to point out all the little diferences in details in this whole collecting thing. I’ll keep you people informed..

Congratulations & looking forward to you posting some pictures . I have previously purchased several watches from Italian sellers, & have had no problems with either watch authentication or the service received from the sellers .

Im sorry for offending Italian Watch Dealers. I apologize.
All opinions are personal and subjective. I’ve been scammed by an Italian dealer once so I will never buy from Italy ever again!

Sorry to hear this one, is that dealer still actively selling? Any links so we can avoid?

Thank you.
This happened back in 2014 and I doubt it if Dealer is active on TRF even if he is we have no way of knowing.
I think he was eventually removed from Chrono24 after many months of emailing Chrono24 and the Chrono24 Customer service did absolutely nothing about the matter they just said “be patient”. I also believe he scammed many other people I remember trying to contact him with a different contact info...
After all he could reappear again on any forum or thread and pose a danger to unsuspecting collectors. It’s really up to the buyer to stay safe out there, as for myself, I will never repeat the same mistake twice.

Cheers

Hello everybody,

My Kermit was just delivered! I am really excited! But first I would like to have your opinions as it is the first time I buy a second hand… Here are some pictures. What do you think?

A little reminder:
- 16610LV
- Bought originally in Greece (client 200, different font)
- from year 2008, with box and papers

Yeah I really don't like the font on that card. My DD's card has the usual font used throughout the time they used this older card. My father's 116528 Daytona card also has the same font. This font looks weird but Rolex cards do vary from country to country.

For example, new Rolex cards from Spain have the color of the dial in English and Spanish. In most other countries it's only in English.

Edit: Watch is 100% authentic. Congrats! I posted without reading the whole thread. I found the card font suspicious but I guess that's how Greek cards were printed in that era. The AR cyclops is right, the date font is perfectly centered, the rehaut engraving is legit. The print on the dial is correct with the right spacing. Very special watch. If I were you I would never sell it!
