i see what you're saying, but i feel the opposite. one of the best looking watches i've ever seen was a completely thrashed 5167 on a bracelet. the guy beat it to hell and it looked amazing. i will do the same. 9 years going now on mine.

I am curious about the watch in 20 years time. Will it look dated in a bad way, or does it seem like a classic. I think most of it will be determined by what the next Aquanaut generations look like.

I think it's interesting looking at the cover of Soros by Kaufman that the design has aged well. I'll be the first to admit that everytime I look at it I think it won't age well, when I looked at iterations in the early 2000's, I thought it wouldn't age well, and every time I look at the book cover...I think...hey...that's not a bad looking watch...despite now being 17 years since the book published.

I’ve worn TF out of mine and hiked/snorkeled/working on cars with it on. It’s take. The abuse well with only minimal signs of wear on the case/bezel (pic below but I edit out all the little nicks in the bezel ) - now the clasp is another story...

Kristian has probably one of the most worn 5167a’s I know and I think it still looks sexy...

It’s also important to realize that watch is photographed under very harsh light and zoomed way in. What does it look like in normal lighting from wrist length while living your life not obsessing about your watch?
But what do I know. I’m also the guy who puts 20k miles a year on an exotic car as a daily driver |

My 5167 looked great after 2 years of daily wear. I don't abuse watches, so they don't get scratched much.
Awesome choice.
