2 Pateks in 7 months

Had an awesome incoming today (5990). I also had a steel 5712 incoming in early sept.

I was fortunate to get both at msrp.

I had actually seen both in person on other people’s hands in LA (rodeo drive) and thought they looked so amazing.

The AD on rodeo and I chatted about how the 5712 was a 7 year wait and close to that for a 5990. So i texted my AD back home and asked first about a 5712 and my AD said it may be tough but we will see what he can do.

He then called me in September saying it had come in!

Then in December I decided to pursue asking the 5990. My AD told me that it would be possible. Fast forward to today and I had a new incoming.

Very fortunate for a great AD relationship

Congrats again...so the obvious question is where to go from here. Is it enough nautilus or do you move up into the dress watches. Or call it a day and do some other brands?

What an AD - congrats!

Im curious how you feel about each of these? Any particular pros/cons, favorite, etc?

Are you also interested in the 5711 or too redundant?

The next step is a minute repeater, preferably with enamel dial

Do you feel 5990 is much heavier than 5712 on the wrist?

I also currently have a 5980 Rose gold full bracelet

and a 5740 en route next month.

I do want to start getting into PP dress watches but I have an aquanaut chrono on my to do list before those

I’ve been throwing around the AP possibility, but every time I say I’ll buy an AP, there is a PP that becomes available to me and I end up with it....

I have Rolex too but I’m pretty much peaked there in terms of interest.

Yes noticeably heavier but not like full gold. Actually ideal. 5712 is a bit too light for me. Still a beauty.

I was really torn between these two references and ended up going 5990 which I’ve never regretted. Would love to be able to add a 5712 but that unlikely to happen sadly. What a duo! Congrats.
