5270 p

I have been offered a 5270 P w salmon dial from an Ad at a bit of a discount . Gorgeous piece - should I buy it? How much should I pay? :-)

I think it’s a nice piece but I’d prefer the 5320G over this. Horologically this is a better watch. I’d probably try to buy it at 130k if they really want to sell it to you

The PCC and PC are not really comparable in my opinion. And a salmon PCC in platinum is just unbelievably beautiful. If I have the means, James, I will get it. I'm not too sure of any discount available but do ask.

Its hard to predict the 2nd hand market before the wine is discontinued.
I paid full price for mine, buy only if you like the watch. A slight price difference does not change my decision.

Do you ever manage to achieve this sort of discount? I calculate that at about 32.5% on the 5270P. (I'm assuming $130k and using the £ price of £147,570)

OP It's a lovely piece and worth serious consideration.

Normally no but it sounds like Jame’s AD thinks he’s losing his status and just trying to move product.

I’ve seen some AD’s discount when they clean up inventory.

Stephen, as an owner of this beauty, what would your take on "buying it right" be?

i did like the watch but fell out of love. now i find it rather unbalanced in comparison to, say, the 2499. so all in all, i'd go vintage instead.

I put this on my wrist once, and... good Lord. It felt really devastating having to pull it off and returning it to the sales guy. If I could afford a +150K watch, this would be the one. No doubt!

My whole collection is worth about 150k, I’d seriously consider liquidating most of it for one if these in the 130-140 range. Absolutely stunning, and have never even seen one in the flesh.

AD cost is about $119,500 so if one wants to make 25K it’s possible. You just need to find an AD with a 5270P and no customers. My regular AD wants full price but he’s got the SF Bay Area & Silicon Valley customers.

Doesn't the £ price include 20% VAT though?

List price in Switzerland is now 170k CHF. Zero % discount is typical for such a model. You do get 7.7% VAT. Still, 163k USD. If you can score 150k, I will not hesitate to pull a trigger.

You can always kindly ask for a nautilus after you purchase this model. I’m sure you will be the very first customer to get it.
