5726 Bracelet observation...

Hi guys...

Very happy shopping day yesterday as I got a call from my AD, where I had been on the wait list for the past two months for this beautiful Black dial 5726...

Anyways, when I got home I noticed that the bracelet is different on my Black Dial 5726 compared to the white dial 5726. The Black Dial has a thicker bracelet, much like the 5980 that I used to own... where as the white dial 5726 has a slightly thinner bracelet, much like the 5712 that I own... The Black Dial version bracelet is bigger in general as I had to remove 5 links in total from it compared to 4 total from the white dial version! check it out...

Firstly congrats on your new addition. Beautiful nautilus model which i have my eye on.

Very interesting findings indeed and i am very curious the reason why the different bracelet and even the weight difference of both watches.

Do you have any idea the year of manufacture between the 2?

Cheers

That's very odd. Every 5726 I've seen, black and white, has had the thicker bracelet.

Congrats ,afaik 5726/5980/5990 have the same bracelet the thicker one and 5711/5712 have the thinner ones though i think the difference is just asthetics ,you may can ask PP i think you will find the ref numbers stamped into the endlink.

Congrats. The thicker bracelet looks to match the watch better. Do your black and white versions feel any different on the wrist?

Both were bought brand new from AD here in HK. The black was double sealed were as the White was opened already. I will follow this up with PPSC and the AD. Will share my findings when I find out

Yes the black feels just a tad heavier and has greater wrist presence due to thicker bracelet. Although the white dial feels a tad more comfortable

Very interesting, wonder why . But it seems to me that the 5726 black dial is a winner

Maybe they just mismatched bracelets in the factory used to be ,the good news it s an easy fix.

I purchased mine (slate gray dial) at Geneva salon 4 years ago and it came with the thicker bracelet. I actually prefer the thinner bracelet as it looks more sleek.

I also noticed on their website Nautilus offer 3 bracelets with 3 different size on centre polish links.

Firstly my apologies guys for not updating sooner... however, I have been off the TFR Radar for quite some time now!

Anyways... here goes...

I decided to take both my 5726's to the HK Patek Service Centre and discuss the issue of the Bracelet with them.
Immediately, upon inspection of both the 5726's they agreed with my findings of the bracelet. Infact they confirmed that the bracelet on my White 5726 is in fact for the 5712. There is a serial number on the back side of these bracelets which tells them what model reference it belongs to!
They then wanted to investigate further about my 5726 and asked if I had bought this watch brand new or from a private sale. I told them I had bought both my 5726's from two different AD's in HK. Black 5726 was sealed and opened in front of me while the White was already opened by the AD not in my presence!
The Patek Service Centre has taken lots of pictures of the watch and bracelet and now forwarded them along with my Certificate to Patek HQ for further investigation!
However, he did assure me that I would be looked after! If Patek HQ also agree with the HK Service Centre's assessment, then they will most probably offer to replace the bracelet with the proper one!
I should be hearing back from them within the next two weeks!

Willl Keep you guys posted!

Again sorry for the delay in the update guys!

great outcome. Its still a super weird situation though and that really should have not been missed by Patek in the first place. Unless you owned two which almost no one actually does, it would have never been noticed by the buyer so quality control is important on their end.

You should insist they not only replace the bracelet, but also return your original bracelet with the correct watch (5712) attached!

Yes I did stress this fact to them ... I told him that I was upset at the lack of QC on Pateks part!

*** UPDATE ***

Just heard back from Patek Service Centre in HK. They have received the new thicker Bracelet (same as the one on a 5980) for my 5726. They will do a free replacement for me. Patek HQ were just as surprised as me! It's good of them to admit there slip in QC and fix the problem...

However, if I didn't own the two 5726's, I would never have noticed the mistake!

They better do a free replacement! If it were me and they were going to charge me for their mistake, I’d be pretty pissed off.
