Consolidating 5167 and BLNR for 5164?

I may now have an opportunity to get a 5164... and wanted to solicit a few opinions on here.

If I were to get the 5164, I would sell both my 5167 and BLNR to fund it. With prices on the latter two being very nice these days, I would have to add a few thousand in cash for the 5164.

The 5167 currently gets a lot of wear, whereas it's somewhat hard for me to fit the BLNR in my rotation. With a suit, I mostly rotate between the 15202 and 5167, and on weekends I prefer to wear the Hulk. I'm also not a huge fan of the PCLs on the BLNR, so a culmination of those factors means that it gets worn seldomly (even though I love the way it looks.)

With the 5164, I feel like I can get the best of both worlds - a super comfortable travel time piece that can work with a suit, to shorts and a t-shirt. Plus, it's actually more under the radar than the Rolex while travelling. It also has a cleaner look compared to the 5167 without the date window.

Would others around here do it?

I would do it yesterday, love this watch. Already selling for a premium in the UK, yet a couple of years ago they were abundant in ADs with nice discount so now I've slightly gone off it, I seem to go off watches getting played up rather than scurry after them as seems fatefully common.

If you are OK letting go of the BLNR then go for it!

I love my 5164A: Better proportions than the 5167 IMHO (slightly thicker with more heft which makes the piece feel more sporty). The globe-in-globe motif on the dial is very cool. The GMT function in an aquanaut makes it a great watch for travel.

I’d do it. Big fan of the 5164 - the ultimate travel watch.

Your collection is great. Just need to sell your 15202 as well, to get a 5711 and it would be perfect

I kind of like the variety the AP brings. I wouldn't go 5711 and 5164 personally.

15202 is nice, I can see why you’d go for that in a combo with the 5164.

I like the way you think. The 5712/1A is also on my list, but the prices are ridiculous IMO. One of those would give me the perfect SS quartet.

Big fan of the 5164. If you aren’t wearing your BLNR, then I would make the deal.

Can't say enough about the 5164. Had the 5167 and sold that and an AP to fund. I have three watches now, ceramic Daytona, SD43, and the 5164A. The Patek is on the wrist 90% of the time. It's that versatile. Plus never worry when I travel. It goes under a dress shirt and flys under the radar.

I'm actually more of a fan of the 5167... Simpler and prefer date window. Had the 5164, sold it and now have had the 5167 for a while.

I would definitely go for the 5164 - size, heft, complication and versatility. I'm waiting for mine to arrive at my AD.

Best of luck in your decision.

You'd have to pry my 15202 from my cold dead hands!

I won't get into it here - but I do prefer the 15202 in a head-to-head with the 5711 for a few reasons. Plus, my 15202 has sentimental value to me.

But, the 5712/1A...

unless the 5167 date window really bothers you, I'd flip the BLNR and pocket the cash

I would. The 5164 is probably my favorite watch. Plus it makes a great pair with the 5712 for down the road, so there is that to consider.

I would do the trade for sure. Mostly because I'm local to you and would love to take the 5167 off your hands haha.
