Where to find Datejust 1600 info

Hi. I am looking for info on vintage datejusts. I would like a white dial, smooth bezel, and thin markers from any decade as a daily wear. But I am having trouble finding consice info on which reference numbers are which. In the 1600 range, how can i find out which details are specific to which reference. Sometimes the bezels are fluted or smooth, oyster or jubilee, dials black or white or linen, and sometimes markers are fate or just the 6 and 9 are fat. Basically it seems like there are thousands of variations and I dont know what reference to look for. Thanks for your help in advanced and please let me know if I can provide any more/clearer info.

Also are there any no-date dress watches in 36mm? Like a precision but 36mm that is vintage?

I wrote this in response to a slightly different question recently, but it may be some help :

“In order 1600-1601-1602-1603: plain polished bezel / fluted bezel in precious metal / not that I can recall, but there may have been an odd version / engine-turned bezel. Four digit model refs like “1601” were 1575 calibre Datejust versions with no quick-set date change. Where there is later a fifth digit, such as “16013,” the fifth numeral reflects the metal used to make the specific watch head (0=s/steel, 3=steel+yellow gold, 4=steel+white gold, 8=18ct yellow gold). This first five digit series introduced the 3035 calibre with quickset date change. Then came the 3135 calibre series, denoted by a change to the middle digits (16013 became 16233, 16014 became 16234 and 16030 became 16220. An additional “1” prefix came in circa 2004 (such as “116233”) which denoted the fatter new cases with upgraded bracelets. Most recently, the second digit changed to a “2” (“126233”) to denote the latest, increased case sizes.”
