Birthday vacation cancelled, but surprise incoming consolation
Was planning to go to Qatar and Southeast Asia for 3 weeks to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family, but COVID19 had other plans.
Then I received a call for this 5168g sight unseen, and figured why not? Only downside (aside from dropping nearly $40k in uncertain times) is being patient enough to have an AD size it for me. The closest AD is 3 hours away by car, and I won't be visiting the AD I purchased this from until the end of May, which I doubt will even happen given the current world crisis. Someone convince me to do the sizing myself! Advice appreciated lol. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk |

It appears few 5168Gs had been delivered just before the lock down. One of my good friends got one offered as well. |

Congrats!
Of course you should size it yourself, super easy. There is a tutorial here somewhere. *Edit: Found it! https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...hange+tutorial |

Wear it “big” for a day or two before downsizing.
Measure twice. Cut once.

Pulled the trigger thanks to the link posted above, and had to take an extra "link" off because it was falling to the very distal portion of my wrist, much looser than I would wear any of my watches.
On a side note after fixing the strap, the springbar on the watch case popped off (!!!), and what a PITA it was to put back in, especially given the extra two pins on the strap I wasn't expecting. Pretty happy with the results! Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk |
