I had a 5167r that I dearly loved. In an moment of weakness I sold it to get another piece. I have been missing it ever since. Never a problem w scratches , it is subtle elegance. I would throw stones at my Rolexes compared to the 67r. To each his own but I vote emphatically for the 67 R .

I've never worn the SS version, but I'm lucky enough to own the 5167R. The dial is striking in sunlight and often catches your eye. Rose gold and chocolate brown pair well together. Wrist presence is remarkable for such a simple, clean dial with an elegant case size. It's the most comfortable watch I own.

I find there's also an attractive incongruity in pairing precious metal with something as casual and functional as a rubber strap.

I own both. The RG is a more beautiful watch imo. I honestly think the two watches can coexist in your collection :) Just get it! You will not be disappointed

just saw one of the pics of the 5167R with scratches on the bezel on the first page of this thread and gave me the chills. Never owned the 5167, i would like to believe that its thinness helps with the scratches. I know that I suffer with the 5164R but it is a thicker watch
good luck

Let’s not forget the 5164 is a lot more money. The steel version is10k more than the 5167r! That’s a big jump.
And it’s quite a bit thicker.
5167r wears as both sporty and smart too.

5167a goes mostly unnoticed except by a WIS. 5167r draws more attention, as does any flash of gold. An all gold Rolex would draw even more attention. It’s a very individual decision to determine which is right for you.

I've been considering adding a gold piece this year and the 67r is one that has been discussed. I already own a 67a. My intent was to get a complication, but when the opportunity strikes for an Aquanaut it's really hard to turn down.

Their retail prices are fairly similar at £27/8K, grey prices are different but so are many models out of kilter.
