Help with vintage 7005-8042
Hi, friends.
I am not much of a Seiko collector, but I just bought a vintage 7005-8042. The crystal was in hideous condition. I cleaned it enough to read the time okay, but found it has a significant edge crack and needs replacing. I had this watch posted for sale here in Canada, but I'm leaning toward taking on the crystal replacement myself, and keeping it. My current situation is that I had a long look at the ofrei listings for Seiko--found lots of 7005s, but not the 8042. I'm hoping someone here might know and share the correct part number. I also noticed that some Seiko crystals load from the back, and so I'm wondering if the 7005s are the usual replacement with crystal remover. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it. |

I have a friend who does my vintage Seiko crystal replacements for me. I’ll ask them if they have any insight on this model.
