Here's One Not Often Seen Here

I couldn't resist this one.

I've been really getting into vintage Omega lately. The Omega sport watches from the 60s/70s are so cool and the ability to get an Extract from the Archives confirming date of production and where the watch was delivered is a huge plus.

This Seamaster 176.007 Chronograph totally blew me away. Blue dial, totalizer sub dial has turned tropic, orange "airplane" hand minute counter, 24 hr day night indicator. And a quick set date. Plus, it has the legendary 1040 Lemania movement and it Omega's first automatic Chronograph. It's just freakin awesome!

Why aren't more people collecting these?

That is a very fun and unique vintage Omega chrono. Congratulations on the pick up!

As to your question: There's a pretty healthy size of collectors whom focus on Omega's vintage offerings. A big chunk of them enjoy comparing notes over on OF. They're all really good people with some pretty amazing collections. If you haven't yet, you should pop over there and take a gander at the vintage section.

For me personally, I'm drawn towards modern designs. Be it Omega, Panerai, Rolex, et al. That's just my individual preference.

Congratulations again on the awesome watch!!

Nice watch. I particularly like the orange accent. With regards to your question, the biggest issues for me with 70s vintage have been garishness and case shape. That said, I think colour and pillow cases are starting to creep into newer releases across a number of brands, so you might be ahead of a new trend.

Omega has some awesome vintage models, especially like the colored accents. That's a great one.

Most certainly. Current direction of Omega design is less than appealing.

Well... I’m on a quest to fine one. That’s killer.
Looks like my Speedmaster Chrono that I live in, more than my rolley’s
