Confessions of an addict. Arrival of several pieces. More in planning

I'm currently in the process of trying to thin out, mainly by moving on quite a few of my modern pieces and concentrating almost solely on neo/vintage.

This isn't going so well.

The last few weeks have seen the arrival of x3 pieces adorned with a crown:-

Namely, a '79' mk1 1680, an '82' matte mk1 '666' & a '78' 16014.

I'm really, really chuffed with all these. As enjoyable as the hunt is, finding pieces that tick most boxes is a real challenge and sometimes quite stressful!! For me anyway.

Hope you like them.

Mouth watering. You clean out just like me....

All are amazing, but that creamy 1680 takes the cake for me.

So many of us after getting a few vintage pieces just initially ignore, and ultimately shelve, the newish pieces....I've yet to meet anyone who's gone the other way ! Nice triple crown set btw.

Indeed, and I hope what you say is true for me. It would be really annoying if I suddenly went off vintage and wanted all my modern pieces back!

I still can't pin-point what made me lose interest in the modern stuff to this extent. I've always had both, but now really struggle to put something new on.......

Anyway, I'll certainly keep surfing this wave while it lasts.

Congratulations!

Sorry to hear it seems stressful or as though it “isn’t going so well,” though!

The hunt itself can be the most enjoyable part of the vintage-collecting pastime. Finding perhaps a misdescribed piece in a small auction, or a particularly fine example in the estate section of a local jeweler is Big Fun, but you have to gather a fair bit of knowledge to tread in the minefield.

As Perezcope often reminds us, even high-dollar, high-visibility pieces can be deceptive.

Hope you can find more pleasure in the process.

(Also - You need a vintage Day-Date now!)
