Wonderful traveling with you, as always!

Seeing M. Dourde's watch made me think Was that a tiny Atmos mechanism in there?

The [Atmos] clock is driven by a mainspring, which is wound by the expansion and contraction of liquid and gaseous ethyl chloride in an internal hermetically sealed bellows. The ethyl chloride vaporises into an expansion chamber as the temperature rises, compressing a spiral spring; with a fall in temperature the gas condenses and the spring slackens.

So I did look him up. Ingenious!

Great post, lucky fella. If this is your job, you’re even luckier. You wouldn’t happen to be looking for a 50 year old assistant? :-)

I wish this was my daily job! I am a chemical engineer,we have several family owned companies (youngest company is 28 years old). I got hooked up into watches at a very early age, and have been fortunate to know many people in the industry. Everything I do, it comes with passion....so now my hobby brings me to the watch/luxury industries....I admit, I LOVE IT!!!!! (posting what I am doing this week as I finish....not watches but....well....stay tuned)

JJ would be very disappointed in me but I'm kind of diggin' that Rado. Very Fifty Fathoms-like. Good times.
