5320 hype settled?
Saw these sitting in several dealers Windows the last few weeks, had the hype settled down?

Never thought this reference was too hyped. The syringe hands don't appeal to everybody on a PC. Definitely way overshadowed by the 5270P and the sports watches.

It’s been sitting in widows for a year. Lovely watch, don’t let availability be a negative.

Was just curious, I know the syringe hands and overall style a bit conflicted but I like it a lot,but way above my budget. Must’ve been a recent shipment with 3 dealers all getting it.

I guess I am a bit biased bc I have one but if I were spending that much I would look at a 5327g . Much more attractive imo. Just a thought. james in San Antonio Tx

5327 is like a value play 5740. Love the numerals, always loved it. sheesh didn’t realize the price crept that high tho.

I really like it - it's a bit left-field, younger, more casual, for a perpetual calendar. I get why that would be the exact reason why it turns a lot of people off though...

The 5320G is the only Patek complication I would ever consider...I think it's gorgeous.
However, why would you consider buying this at retail, which is now $100k inclusive of sales tax. This reference is very easily available on the secondary market at $70k. It was in the mid-$60s before the price increase. The only way I would ever buy this at retail is if it is packaged with an Aquanaut. Which, seems unlikely these days.

with a few exceptions the only Hyped watches on the Patek catalogue are the Nautis and Aquas. The dress watches like this one has Hype life span of 4-6 months

I have seen the 5320 sit in display cases pretty much straight from the launch. It has a great dial layout just like the 3448 and 3450 but I cannot get over the almost yellowish dial color. If it had a silver dial or, even better, a black dial I'd be much interested.

I saw the 5320 at an AD recently and wow, it is an absolutely stunning piece. It seems so casual and versatile. Too bad they didn't have a 5327 for comparison.

Patek’s QP offerings have a lot to be desired in the current collection. 5327 and 5320 are lacking.

There's one in my AD right now. And has been for some time.
I love the aesthetics of watch, but I would say the price on it is a bit steep when compared to the other Pateks in that the price range. |

i absolutly love the 5320G, the only challenge for me is that it is similar to the 5146G which i already own.
after the recent price increase, i am seriously looking fo a nicely priced one. i believe the 5327 is the decendant of 5140 and 3940 before that. the 5320 is more unique

is it just me, or is the 5320 not even close to as appealing as the 5327 ? i would not pay close to even gray for the 5320 personally
5740 obviously on another level |

5320 is a very easy watch to read which makes it convenient to know what time is it, which day and which month you are at, and it does it better than any other QP from Patek without any other complication (only the one with the chrono has this display to my knowledge)

I'm probably in the minority as well as I generally am not one that buys into the "classic" Patek look.

In my eyes the dial of the 240 powered PC lost its balance when they increased the watch size from the OG 3940 to the 5140 and then 5327. They tried to make the most of the extra space around the subdials by adding breguets but for me it looks unbalanced.

and tbh, in general i don't necessarily love all pateks. they run small for me and the look just doesn't do it for me usually. my fave's would have to be the bigger Nautilii, but those are just so much $$$$ |

Interesting. I traded my 5146j towards my 5320g so we have similar taste. It’s by far my favorite PC in the lineup. |

Outside the sport watches Pateks are kinda like cars. A model is hot the year that new model is released while people are talking about it and not many people have even seen one in person. Major drop off in buzz and hype by year 2.

This reference has both strong pros and cons for me.
The dial layout of the 5320G is by far the best PC layout Patek has to offer, taking its DNA from the legendary ref. 3448 "disco volante". However, I am personally not fully convinced by the yellowish tone of the dial, nor the "too vintage looking" syring hands. So hoping Patek at some point will introduce a version with a silver, blue or black dial and ideally leaf hands. |
