Marquetry Omega Speedy - !

Thought y’all might enjoy seeing this in-progress photo of a Speedmaster, portrayed in (presumably “double bevel”) marquetry - All of it made by hand, from thousands of tiny bits of wood veneer. I can’t even imagine how many days it took to scroll saw all these letters and numbers. You can see the scale from the hand tools - The watch image itself is probably about 30”/75cm across.

His IG feed has more pics of this piece (and a video of him assembling the crown from its 17 constituent bits of wood), plus some other beautifully precise marquetry work - Ferrari, vintage Riva Tritone speedboat, Porsche, etc.). See on IG @thurnherr_art_marquetry
