So excited!!

Hi all!!!

Just ordered my first Rolex. It's a pre-owned GMTII red/black with oyster fliplock. (c.1997). Been wanting one of these for years, but the 'ol lady.. well, you know the rest!! (getting divorced BTW!!) Purchased it from Bernard Co. in Austin. My TAG's will likely feel neglected once I recieve the watch next week. Any advice on consoling my other watches?

Firstly, welcome aboard & congratulations ( one both fronts)LOL
For you other watches, break them in now & find a nice resting place for them. I suspect they will be relegated to the "wear later" pile for quite some time

Hi Howitzer,

Welcome to TRF!! Nice first post!!

Well, the only way you could possibly console those other buggers is by letting them spend a few nights with one of the lady watches you might have lying around.

That's the way I do it.....works for me.

Congrats on the GMT-II. Can't wait to see the pics. Have yourself a ball on this forum and post away to glory!!

Cheers - JJ

Did the red/black insert. I have a TAG 980.013N that is black/black so I wanted something different.

Welcome to TRF, Howitzer. And a big welcome to the 4 hand club. That's a great watch you're getting. Enjoy it and wear it in good health.

And keep on posting and show us some pics when that beauty arrives.

So you lost a wife and gained a Rolex......and a Damn good Rolex at that !
Only sensible thing to do is let her keep the other watches.......
Then you can start life afresh !!!!!!!!!!

First of all congratulations on getting the GMT II. A true classic and no more made, at least not with the elegant "normal" Oyster case and with the "Pepsi" bezel. So good you got it!

"Consoling"?

Well, I don't know if I get you right, but if you mean how to "store" your other watches, you might want to get a watch winder.

Big welcome from me, too!
