Just copped a Rolex. Want another one now. Totally unnecessary

Joined this place on Monday. Copped a polar exp2 Wednesday. Love the watch. Can't stop thinking about getting another one (maybe sub but I've seen so many other cool watches here). I don't make enough to drop 8-10k like its no big deal (so many of you guys are freaking loaded). But I can't stop thinking about getting another watch that I completely don't need. Will this feeling go away?

This place isn't like a meeting where people help you get over your feelings so they go away.

You will go full circle, it's a long expensive journey, but I'm sure it will end with one precious metal Rolex you will soon call your Grail. judging by the polar, I foresee a new ceramic Daytona occupying your search in the near future.

congrats, now post some pictures.

Feeling will definitely not go away! It gets worse and it is contagious. I bought an Omega Speedmaster to replace a TAG that I bought 18 years ago. Caught the watch bug. Soon after, I got a great deal on an IWC pilot chrono. A month later I saw an ExpII and well, had to have it. Three months after that a ceramic kept calling me, picked up an SD4K. Meanwhile, my wife thought I was crazy, but somehow she became obsessed and bought her own yacht master. Now she is shopping for a DJ36tt. It never stops.

Unless you want an affliction to which there is no cure I suggest you stay off this forum, all watch blogs, watchrecon, and find a way to make your awesome Polar ExpII your one and only. Godspeed Sir!

i dont think its a question of being "loaded"

seeing as rolex hold their value rather well.. after the initial small depreciation hit its more a question of not needing to access a certain amount of money for a period of time

i certainly could not afford to own my watches if they became worthless after buying them

Well, you've had your new watch for four days now. Are you really itching for another one so soon? Get to know the one you have first and decide if it's a keeper or not. If it's not, then flip it for one that you really want. But give it some time before jumping to another one. Just my two cents.
Regardless of what you decide, welcome to the forum.

Most of us get a mid level or entry level mechanical watch just to get a quick fix until the real deal happens.

Seiko, Hamilton, Stowa, Steinhart, Swatch, etc.

Hamilton makes excellent watches for the money. My Team Earth is more accurate that my GMTIIc.

You can "cop" a great Hamilton on e-bay or grey market for $500.

Most folks here prioritize watches over other unnecessary things in life, like cars, houses, food, clothes, etc.

Congrats you're now a true WIS. my only suggestion is don't get out of your comfort zone financially because of this forum. Enjoy the hunt. Learn along the way and buy smart.

Also. Once you realize that the thirst doesn't get quenched even after another purchase, it's a lot easier to keep yourself from giving in.

Happened to me when I got my first DJ (over 30 years ago), feeling finally went away after a year, then it copped up 3 years later, then 27 years later, and now I have four. No rhyme or reason to it.
