Date change

Just curious to know what time other watches date changes around midnight. I currently have 2 Tudors, my GMT flips over at 00:11and my Pelagos flips at 00:25. Are these timings about average as I don't expect them to change exactly at midnight?

My Lady Datejust 279171 is kind of all over the place when it comes to the date change. If I do it manually (by advancing the time), it flips exactly at midnight. But on its own, it usually changes between two and three minutes past midnight.

As you know the time that the date changes is dependant on the position of the hands at final assembly.
This can be adjusted by a watchmaker and will also change during a service.

I am happy if I wake up in the morning and the date has changed but this is not very often as my daily work watch is a 14060.

Exactly what I learned from you guys a couple months ago when I asked the exact same question! Seems kinda obvious in retrospect now...but it definitely wasn't something I myself thought of as a new owner.

The date change is a purely mechanical feature some change a little before midnight some a little after and nothing to worry or fret about. As long as date has changed by morning and you can see its changed thats far more important if proves you are still alive.

I’m pretty much in the same camp as Padi & Andad. The variability is part of living an analog life. My Apple Watch always changes within microseconds of midnight, but where is the fun in that?

And while in my college years working the 3rd shift overnight, never cared about the date as we hit midnight.

Mine are fine because when I wake up the date is correct. I can't worry about things like this...its no way to live IMHO. I just enjoy and wear the crap out of my watches at this point.

Send it to me and I’ll fix it for half the price of a service.
