I’d get the ln at mrsp over a hulk at grey. At AD I’d get a hulk. I like both. Ridiculous they’ve become so unattainable.

You should buy the watch you want to own the most. Compromise costs more and results in more watches, some of them being models you didn't really want. If the present LV is discontinued, there will still be loads of them in circulation and some still coming through ADs.

Your money, your choice.

As others have said succinctly, buy what you want and not what you can get.

Based on your description, I feel like if you get the LN you will still want the LV, but if you got the LV, you would not buy an LN in the future. Hope this makes sense. Like others have said, buy what you really want, not what you're offered. Watches are like women, you don't want to have to force yourself to fall in love with one. It never works out in the end.

Buy black keep waiting for the hulk, if it becomes available then buy the hulk too. After that if you dont want the black sell it. Simple :)

Always go with the black sub. The green is an homage to the real deal like a commemorative coin or something.

Ii say wait for the Hulk if that’s what you want. You can always get a black sub but the green will be special. I had no purchase history and got my Hulk in less than 6 weeks so their is hope depending on the market you live in.

Very succinct and sage advice. Couldn't have said it better.

Buy the watch you really want.
If you want a Hulk, go grey now.
If the rumours are true and it gets discontinued, the price will only go up.

I love my Hulk as part of my collection, but if I was going to have only one Rolex, it’d be a black Submariner.

I totally agree with you on this.

If new product is released from Rolex in 2020, let's imagine a new Submariner is a 2020 release, If a new sub is released, it is not likely , that a client with no purchase history will be offered this watch unless you are a previous buyer.

It sucks what you’ve been going through OP. I really hope you do land your dream watch. Unfortunately the hard reality is the AD is going to offer the hulk to a client with very good purchase history. The longer you wait the more expensive the Hulk will be on the grey market. It’s at its record high right now on chrono24. At this point I would hold and not buy (grey market) until the new releases on September 1. It’s a bit of a gamble because if the watch is not discontinued that means you have another year to try to get the watch. But if it is discontinued, it will probably go for $20k for an unworn brand new.

Yes I am being offered a black sub date while waiting for Hulk.

Or are you saying you have to wait for either and you are on the fence about which model to wait for?

Which is it?

your only choice is paying the 100% mark up on the grey market if you want the hulk in this decade - if you want it that badly its worth it

for my 2c worth - buy the black one especially at msrp as you will make a profit if you ever do get a hulk at msrp - and you might well find the black one is all you need / want anyway

Buy it.

You're not going to get a green one within a reasonable time frame, new from an AD.

It's really not all that anyway. Trust me. BTDT.

The LV is great if you have at least one watch to rotate it with.

The black is the better all-rounder. However, the hulk is, without question, the more special and enamoring piece.

As you want the LV, I don't think you should compromise.
