how about taking off sold items?

being new around here(since august, 2007), i'm not sure if the mods have the ability(or willingness) to eliminate all sold items on the wanted/for sale section of TRF. it would be very nice to have all sold items eliminated, so members only look at current items for trade or sale. that is my respectful(newbie)suggestion.
best,dan

Very good suggestion. In fact, on Overclockers Forums (www.ocforums.com) where I am a moderator there is a "Sold" section that all sold items get moved into for archive and referral for all.

I have at some stage discussed this before and I think that on balance, the sold items do provide a useful resource for those looking to find out what some models look like, and also prices paid in the past.
The forum is maintained, and generally you will find a sold watch now with the -sold- tag stated in the title of the thread. Obviously, there is a lag, between the notification of the sale having occurred and the -sold- being entered, but most times it will take only a day or so.

I actually think there is a 'hack' you can install that allows the CREATOR of a thread in a certain section ('For Sale' for example) to then MOVE his own thread into another (and only one) section (sold) for example. So in essence, once an item is sold the creator of the thread can then move it into sold. Genius really.

O.K. I'll have a look into that, but more hacks can equal more problems down the line, and another forum is another consideration to take into account too.
