I think they are not using a typical mixture for white gold which can turn yellow after time. What they use is actually called "grey" gold which involves more expensive mixes of metal to preserve its color. If you put a white gold piece of jewelry next to a grey gold rolex watch you will actually see the difference in color.

After getting my Sky Dweller. I wondered about the white gold bezel and whether it had been rhodium plated. Having access to a laboratory here in Dallas I used X-ray fluorescence to non-destructively examine the bezel. Results were about 78% gold, 8% palladium, 5% platinum and 9% copper, silver and trace metals.

No significant rhodium.

I knew it wasnt rhodium plated from everything I have read. Those are good numbers on how they come up with the white gold formula. Would be fun having your capability with all sorts of metals.

Just to add, my Dad day date 18039 dated back to the 1982. The watch crown have turned yellowed, I have recently ask a jeweler to plated it back to 18k white gold and it looks all shiny now. Cost me around USD 60. I did tried to look around for the WG crown replacement, which easily cost me 3-5 times the replating cost.
