Your proctologist might not wear one, but I can assure you he's pulled one out before

From the object of his passion, not to put too fine a point on it. Probably comes out looking like a CHNR

My mom's urologist back in Milan, Italy wears a 16520 white dial. I used to be mesmerized by it every time we saw him for my mom's annual checkups

Agree, there are those who wanted to punish themselves with not just a medical defree, but also the PhD

I'm in sales and interact with PhDs and MDs on a daily basis in a research setting. I've seen less than a handful in my 8 years in the industry.

I can't speak towards a clinical setting, but research physicians don't seem to care about Rolex.

Maybe in the states where healthcare is privatized but I've never seen a doctor nor a specialist wear a Rolex in montreal.
The average salary of physicians in Québec is $325,000. I'm quite confident that plenty of them wear Rolexes.

Although, I believe for doctors a Cartier is more traditional.

Ph.D. here but I wear my watches with pride as if I were a physician, in which case they'd all be PM

Also, person in the photo is not a physician. He's a "doctor" like your English professor is a doctor. (Not knocking him/his job/his field, but just making a point since it seems you were inquiring about physicians wearing Rolex's.) Cheers!

What are student loans for med school nowadays, if you don’t mind me asking?

Mine were ~$160k. That's supposedly the average. I went to a state school.

However, if you go to a private school, it can be $200-300k.

If you go to the Caribbean to a for-profit school, it can be up to $400k and higher.

Dental school here. Not Med. But after graduation mine were about 300k.

I went to state school. Not private. And that number did include my undergrad as well.

I have subjected myself to this punishment. And as reward I wear my Rolex - in clinic, doing procedures/minor surgery, in the research lab, on evenings and weekends. And hot tubs.

As a kid, My pediatrician had a Rolex. I don’t remember why he would do this, but i have this memory of him putting the watch by my ear to see if I could hear the ticking.

I believe it's a request missing a couple of comas.

Do, Dr. is where, Rolex? Not quite certain what the context is, however.
