...and they tell me ...
....Rolex is trying to get rid of grey dealers ...when THEY themselves
have become everything ...immoral ...in the book of anti business

Some Rolex ADs have elevated unethical business practices to an unheard of level
Demanding hefty down payments with a vague offer of delivery
Black-mailing potential clients with high dollar diamond jewelry purchases first
Selling at black market prices in the back office ....etc etc etc

..and finally who’s fault is this farce that is going on in the name of buying a Rolex ?
I would say the clueless idiot who’s the CEO of a great watch company

I noticed this immediately as well.

OP couldn't be bothered to take the picture while the car was stopped. I will never understand the need to take a picture while the car is moving.

Profit on CHNR will provide discount on DD40 and Daytona at list .
Sale of CHNR and Daytona will provide the DD40 for free !!
Sounds like a pyramid scheme, but the scary things is ..its the truth.
There you have it ,in this empty showcase situation ,the solution is to buy three !!

Thanks to all. And yes I am worried to get black listed so I’m trying to sell chnr to close relationships that actually want the watch. You can all PM if you are interested. I have a few references on forums. I’ll beat any price you see.

This AD relationship is a big game. There will be watches every year that are going to be tough to get at retail. I just want to be on the ADs mind when he gets them. Sometimes you should even lose on a watch that they can’t sell because losing 1k on a Datejust to eventually buy a blnr is worth it.

The 'car' isn't moving. Those dials are timers, nothing more. Thanks for considering the OP's safety!

Did the AD tell you in advance he had the Daytona before you made the three watch offer? Proves there are a lot of SS watches in the safe.

I’m in Cleveland and the AD here don’t really have any watches and when they are in the safe they are usually sold waiting to be picked up. I called the AD and they laughed and said no Daytona’s. I walked in anyways and the salesman said we have one and it’s going to high end client. I told them what I’d buy to bundle the Daytona. They called the client and he don’t pick up the phone. So they moved on and did the deal with me. The AD probably gets 2-4 Daytona’s a year.

Only way I was getting that Daytona without waiting. Walked in the ad and I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. He had several clients for the Daytona and I needed to put a little pressure on him and I’m hoping to get other sought after pieces. Perhaps it was an investment.
I’m confused.... how do yo make a 10k profil on a Daytona that you plan to keep?

I'm trying to put myself in the OP's shoes and see where I'm getting screwed and I don't see where.

The DD at 20% off is really good price, a friend of mine has been shopping one and the best price he got was 18% off and that's shopping it all over the country.

I want the Daytona white dial which is the hardest watch next to blue skydweller to get. So that's a positive. So far I've gotten two watches I wanted, one for a great discount and one that you can't get. So far so good.

Now I take it in the shorts cause I have to buy the CHNR at MSRP. Well it's a nice watch and if I'm stuck with it not the end of the world. If I sell it at cost or slightly below, it only means I got less of a discount on the DD. I'm still ahead of the game since I got the discount. If you take the discount out of the equation then it's a different story.

So OP gets two watches that he wants, OP got a good deal on one of them, OP takes a small hit on one but still ahead money wise. Where's the problem?

Sad for all of us who can't go in a plunk down 60K in order to get a watch we want! That's the negative part. No negative aspect from OPs point of view.

I didn't notice you were from the Cleveland area. I live in Canton and since Gassers closed a few years ago the closest AD is in Strongsville, about 40 miles away. I won't waste my time driving up there now, even to window shop.

Awesome deal OP. The only thing is that CHNR is such a stunner. Maybe you should keep that too.

Talk about mixed emotions here. And OP, please note I am not ragging on you at all, you had a good opportunity & you took it.

SO on one hand I'm stoked for Jundi, on the other hand I'm in complete despair that an AD:
1) Forced the bundle
2) Did not give others a chance to purchase the Root Beer
3) That yet another piece is hitting the grey market (and not by the design of OP)
4) That OP had to buy others to get the watch he originally set out to get

OP wins, AD Rep hits his commission, the rest of you in OH who had hoped to snag something fun are now SOL.

It is sheer madness.

Correct, but under these mad circumstances the OP did well .

He gets a Daytona at list and a DD at less 20.

Got lucky at my AD

Your money, your watches. Whether or not this was a good deal, or if your post reads as a flex (I didn’t read it that way) is another story. Congrats on getting two great modern pieces. Would I go that route? No, not a chance but that last just me! Oh and I don’t have 58k in the bank nor am I interested in a Daytona or DD, so there’s that lol.

I say congrats, you got what you wanted, and it sounds like you have a plan for the one(s) you don’t desire to own. I’m sure the AD is pleased as well!

The typical negative response to bundling is that you were forced to buy something you don't want to get something you do want. But OP wanted the DD, which he got at right around DSW's price. And he got the DayC he wanted at MSRP (1/2 of gray price). And the CHNR he can likely flip for the MSRP that he paid.

How on earth could the AD be upset if they package $60k worth of three watches and one gets flipped? AD got OP to do his work for him (sell off watches) and AD sold 3 watches with little effort. That's what I call a win-win.
This.

Well played OP. While I don't love the bundling tactics, it is a deal I would have made if I wanted a PM piece, and I do. I recently inquired about one from my AD and apparently even full PM is no discount these days. With 20 percent off, that would be a tough deal not to make.

I truly wish I could just walk in and buy a SS sports model without a bundle one day. I think you eat the bullet at first then doors open up.
