SD43 future

Hi any guesses on the future of this watch (and PLEASE don't lecture me for asking for guesses, tell me no one knows, etc. it is just for fun). For example do you think they'll get rid of the red line soon? And if they do, will they keep the rest of the watch pretty much the same for awhile or do you suspect more major changes? What are your thoughts

Well if you told me they would have a TT SD43 this time last year I’d say you were nuts.

Nothing is safe with Rolex except for their continued march toward more gold big timer pieces...

I have a new SD43 and do think it will go through a period of demand (like the Pepsi) probably 20 years from now. They will make it with red lettering for several years and then change lettering color at some point. But we have a ways to go before that happens.

But 'yes' it is a good piece to have in your collection.

I can tell you that the MKI will go through the roof as it was a one year production! So technically already “discontinued “ Which makes it more rare than the Kermit flat 4. That goes for crazy prices now!
Even though I don’t buy my watches for investment but the only one that I never sized and stays in the safe with stickers is that MKI SD43

I think it is too large a reference to be as universally collectible and desired as the Sub, at least that has historically been the case.
