I do not think it's too big.

Picked this up today after waffling between Sub C and YM Platty. In the end the size, proportion and functionality won me over to new EXP II. I know this is sort of a polarizing piece, but I love the matte black dial, do not mind the "floating hands" with black paint. I think it's a great modern interpretation of the classic EXP II Steve McQueen (forgive me if i get those references wrong)

looks great John, I'll be ticking the Exp II 42mm box in about 18 months. Wear that in the best of health.

Looks great! What a beautiful watch! Haven't gotten the chance to have a Black Dial EXPII 42 in my hands, but I have with the polar.

I noticed in person that the black dial 42mm Explorer II wears smaller than the white dial.

Congrats. I think all watches are polarizing (white dial Exp maybe more than others ) if you love it, that's all that matters!

Anyone who thinks an Explorer II 42 is big, probably also thinks a Speedy Pro is big too cause they're just about the same size when I compare them. I don't think it's too big, in fact on your wrist it's perfect! Congrats!
