Aftermarket bezel retaining ring question

Hello, I am building a watch case in which the case and bezel are aftermarket. I noticed something on the underside of the bezel retaining ring, it is groves almost for a seal to go into, however the ring surface of the case is flat. Does a seal go into this grove or is it just made that way.

The other assembly type picture is from the internet of a real watch, but they are showing a seal under the bezel ring or going around the crystal ring.

Either way I’m not sure and would like to be correct before I press the retaining ring over the crystal.

Thanks Much

Fomblin on the gasket. It will then cling to the retainer ring. The crystal goes on first, then the retainer ring is pressed on. The the friction ring, more fomblin, the click, the bezel ring then the insert.

I’m a little confused. So is a Oring supposed to fit under the bezel/crystal retaining ring or only on certain models.

Thanks Much

Yes, there is an o ring they started using around 16800 (I think- someone help) when they added the click spring to the bezel.

I stick to 4 digits so no o ring on mine.

Ok, thank you for your reply, now if I can find a part number for that Oring, does anyone know this Oring number.

Thanks Much
