This is HOT HOT HOT 5170P

Liking this.

Dial is balanced nicely with the subtle changes since the beginning of the reference.
The metal I've been longing for,
Truly My favorite choice of hands...

But on closer inspections ... are those diamond markers
seriously, diamond markers...

im just not a diamond marker kind of guy.

Everyone here is always so shy whenever diamonds come up. I love them. Embrace your masculinity fellas and don't be afraid of a little bling.

Best looking version of the 5170. I don't mind the markers but the price will be too much for me.

But just think of how much nicer it would look with the breguet numerals from the 5170g!

Breguet or Arabic Numerals is what was needed IMO

lol... It's not terrible, G but I do not love it and I'll tell you why: diamond markers (eww), gradient dial (meh) and another blue dial (I mean, blue used to be reserved for special watches, now they seem to be slapped on everything).... Just my 2 cents.

EDIT: and then there is the price.... I haven't seen the price but if gold goes for 80k, then I imagine this one will be over 100k and at that price, well you know there are better options out there in my mind at least.

Yup, diamond and platinum should bring the price over 100k.

Is the price 85,000 chf including tax? Seems reasonable relative to the G and R prices. The hands are very nice and make it actually legible in all lighting, that little stripe of lune makes a huge difference. The diamonds seem fairly subtle, the tach and what they've done to the subdials are also a big improvement over the R and G.

Agree, you're getting platinum and diamonds for about the same price as the R and G. Maybe Patek has been watching the prices tank on the older 2016 5170's and decided to do something about it. It looks like the new 42 mm WG aquanaut is also about the same price as the 5167R.

I would prefer it without the diamond markers, but I could see this as my first with them, too. It's a beautiful watch. Price seems reasonable, I wonder how available it will be.

I change my mind...I actually think the diamonds work well with the dial. Price is not bad either imo. Still prefer the 5070p though
