Patek Nautilus 5800

I'd like to ask the experts here, (since I'm really not), what they think of this Patek 5800. I have an opportunity to obtain one for about $20k, "brand new" and genuine, even though it has been out of production since 2006...

Is that a good price? I ask since the 5711s new from Patek are about $30K and are selling on the grey market for about $54K. It seems strange.

Thanks for your input.

Looks like Chrono24 has one up for about $54k, and European Watch Co. is about to list one (no price yet)

Is this at an AD or a shop in the middle of no where?

If you're for 5711, don't settle for 2nd best, you'll end up selling it and get the one you really want. It's a nice watch but not for me bec of its size.

Incidentally there's one at Jomashop selling for 21k. ( mod, delete if this isn't permitted)

Buy it for $20k and flip it for $54k. Quick profit even if you decide not to keep it.

Since the watch has been out of production for ~10 years, you have to wonder what the term "brand new" means. But if you can find one in excellent condition and your wrist size isn't 8", it will be a nice watch to add.

As for Jomashop listing, they seem to list watches without having them in stock. They have had that price for years and probably hasn't updated to reflect the Nautilus craze of recent times.

I almost bought one because of rarity, but after trying it on it is so small!! It is literally like a 3800.

I think it looks pretty good. I have a smaller wrist and recently got the 3800 and it looks great, it’s my new everyday. Personally I think the days of larger watches are limited. Got mine for 20k and am loving it

Wish I could post pics but TRF not letting me

yes

Get it.
ITs slightly smaller than the 5711 but on a small wrist you will barely notice.
It is a good deal.
If you dont take it pls let me know. I will gladly take it. Have been looking for one at "normal" price.

It is doubtful that 54k it will find a buyer though. The watch is relatively small. Being out of production gives that little "something", but imo nothing near the craziness we see with the 5711.

European Watch just listed one for $44.5k USD. They are a large pre-owned store for Patek watches, so I imagine they have a good grasp of market pricing.
