Stolen Patek Phillipe

Hi Forum,

I' m looking for some help locating a stolen watch. Its my wife's Calatrava Blue Dial Diamond 18kt White Gold Ladies Watch REF 4897G-001 . It was stolen in Dubai and I have been lead to believe it has been sold to a shop or individual in Hong Kong. Serial number is 7019144.

I would appreciate any help and or advice for the watches return. Reward offered for its return

Thanks again

Markus

that sucks

Hopefully it was insured. If so its the insurance companies watch now and i would just replace it. Its always my biggest concern when people buy without papers as they might buy it and not even know its stolen for a long, long time as there is no real standardized process across countries to even check. Its much easier to steal a watch than to steal a watch and its paperwork.

Its a beautiful watch and my wife nearly bought one.

Sorry to hear that and hope you find the watch soon. Have you considered informing Patek directly?

i would be curious about this process. How long it takes and if you can contact them as a buyer to check before making a purchase. I have no idea.

Clearly if it comes back for service at some point they will keep it, but probably not before it has changed hands a time or two first. They seem to be not very timely on a lot of things as i just got a letter thanking me for a purchase from a year ago so it takes them forever to get caught up on this kind of documentation stuff. With stolen watches, timelines is key for both the dealer buying it and the purchaser who is ultimately going to acquire it.

Extract from archives will show the piece as stolen, at least by registering it with Patek as stolen the piece will never have any paperwork.

Always notify PP. They will put it in their stolen watch registry and if it ever turns up for service they will return it to its rightful owner. When you buy a watch, if you have the time you can research it through PP for its provenance.

Nothing worse than thieves. Best of luck in recovering and hopefully the scum gets what's coming sooner than later.

Very very sorry to hear.
I really hope you find your watch back, and the thieves get caught and get what they deserve.
Do you mind sharing how such a thing happened? Very very unusual for Dubai. I live in the neighbouring country and Visit dubai 10-15 times a year, so just curious.
