Wholeheartedly agree with this 100%.

It would be so nice if people could just stick to the topics at hand and focus on Rolex and your attire without having to be negative. And those who claim people who dress nicely or more formally are sheep, manipulated or don’t really want to dress that way. There was a time when people took pride in their appearance and there is nothing wrong with that. Some people still do. And I for one love dressing up and wearing a suit as do a lot of other people which a simple google or Instagram search will reveal.

After reading the posts, my turn..:)

I love dressing up in a suit, blazer, allen edmonds, etc with my watches, especially my DJ fluted blue dial or white sky. I don't do it for anyone else, but myself. I wasn't able to afford this growing up as I broke, paying my way through college and establishing myself.

On the other hand, I also enjoy wearing a hoodie, beanie, sweats while wearing my GMT or hulk. That's my get out of bed look that can last the whole day.

When walking into ADs or high end luxury stores, I prefer to not dress up but I'm also aware that you are judged by some sales associates. But, I still wear a hoodie if I can. The way I look at it, if you don't want to help me, I'll find a nice person who will work with me.

I now work in the tech industry - shirt, polo, jeans. I used to dress in a suit each day in a past role. Bottom line, I enjoy both, especially when you can go through your watch collection and mix and match.

Have a great day all.

In fact, looking at me, the only thing you'd see to indicate I'm successful enough to buy a nice watch, is that i'm always wearing one. :) And yet, I'm always treated very well at any high end watch store I go to, just the other day I was treated very well at Hamiltons and Tourneau on Worth Ave in  West Palm Beach, I even tried on a $140,000 Lange. (wearing an old, faded bugs bunny t shirt. :) )

When I was in law school about 15 years ago, I had started dating my future wife, in case she assumed as a lawyer, I'd be fashion conscious, I told her up front, as clearly as I could, if you need a guy who dresses to kill, you'll be very disappointed with me, I don't even dress to injure. :)

My watches are the one aspect of style and presentation that I pay some attention to, and perhaps a nice leather wallet. My wedding band is plain white gold.
You, Sir, have a great sense of humour. Are you sure you are a lawyer?

I wore a uniform (of some form) for the first 17 years of my career. Expectation is defined by guidance and enforced by leadership. Life was a lot simpler. Definitely not for everyone, though.

I enjoy wearing a nice suit when the occasion arises but usually I’m in flip
flops, T-shirt, and jeans. I find a nice pedicure properly spiffs up my daily casual dress.

The same can be said of wearing a mechanical watch. I’m sure there’s an Apple Watch-rocking barista somewhere out there who would be absolutely mortified to learn that you are wearing a weird 19th century mechanical contraption on your wrist like some kind of an ignorant luddite.

The one thing I’ve appreciated about wearing a mask as part of my daily attire, whether casual or for work, is that it gives me more privacy. I’ve never been a big fan of being recognized around town so that + a hat + sunglasses = I can go around town and do my own thing and not be stopped for a chat I don’t otherwise care about :P

I live in Hawaii and nobody wears a suit unless it is a wetsuit.

A less than optimal candid shot, but the Rolex still makes its presence known.
