I don’t think yours is a d series as the photographs show it to have the Rolex rehaut.

There's DSOTM by Omega and there's DSOTK. Dark side of the Kermit.

Hoping to join someday...

Question for those who own/have recently purchased a 16610LV from a newbie here who hopes to join your ranks someday. The pics on here are beautiful.

This watch is next on my list as a 30th birthday present to myself, but I've still got a year to go. I'm on the fence about whether to pull the trigger now or wait a year or so. The prices on these have really seemed to jump over the last 2-3 years especially. I'm wondering if the release of the new 126610LV (not my style) could possibly be driving up values for the 11610LV as well and whether that might subside a bit in the coming year or two.

Any thoughts on how the prices for the OG Kermit prices might fluctuate in the next year or so?

PS This is my first forum post, so I sincerely apologize if this belongs somewhere else!

Welcome to TRF!!
Enjoy the process as you get more familiar with the different facets and resources on the Site.

And, . . . .you should buy the watch you love, when you can pull it off. As I learned long ago, regarding real estate . . . the best time to buy is always "now". It's a mistake to try to "time the system". Just get the watch that speaks to you, and don't worry if it's an extra 10%, more or less. You won't think about that later.

Have fun!!

My AD who has me listed for a 41mm Sub C offered me instead the green bezel Kermit II or from the subdued green tone I’m calling the Bullit. It should arrive before year’s end.

I have a Sub C 40mm 114060 but can’t pass on the new Kermit at retail price. What do you guys think?

Never get tired of watching that lime green bezel there Loevhagen. Is yours a 2004 mid range B5Xxxx’s ? If I have the correct serial range that is.

Probably from a 16618 or 16613...not OEM for any LV. Some LB-inserts with Luminova or Super Luminova and 16618 or 16613 exists, but often such an inserts is from a tritium model having yellow text and/or tritium pearl on the insert...

Or simply an aftermarket insert.

It’s a Franken-OEM. Details below. Certainly not correct, but it’s fun.
I’ll keep the original insert with the watch! It’s a full set unpolished.

You are on the mark. Quite close!

Got the insert from a TS vintage expert on this forum. It was most likely either a 16803 or 16808 insert from the 1980s. It had a YG pip but; the pip was swapped out at my request for a Luminova WG pip, to match the dial Lume and case.

There was a group of bezel inserts in the 1980s where the gold numbers and marks on the bezel faded out to become completely silver, as this one did.

I saw this color insert on a sub a few years back and wanted to try it. Been thinking about it and only got to it, now.

Fun mod and easily reversible in 30 seconds.
