I contend that Rolex was at the forefront of branding their watch products even 50 years ago. Rolex sent to their main watchmakers, whom they trusted, an abundance of original parts with the understanding that they had the skills to keep their watches original and running correctly. My father was amongst those cherished few. The Rolex watch is a very complicated watch to repair and then as now it takes specialized tools to maintain such a major instrument.

Many of my father's clients over the past 50 years have become major collectors either by inheritance or by actual design. In the '60s, '70s, and '80s my father sold the greatest number of Rolexes in western Canada. Astonishingly, many of his clients, are members of the forum and their families have communicated in large numbers with me. I am posting a signed letter to my father, dated December 1957 from the founder and Director General of Rolex, H. Wisdorf. The two men had a great vision for Rolex not only in North America but in the world. I feel my father was part of that successful history.

Enclosed, please note the following pictures:

1) Letter from H. Wilsdorf, Director General of Rolex, to Marcel Maurer

2) Marcel Maurer with his Watch Master

3) Sign [neon sign in front of store]

4) Nine small stainless steel anchors that show the guaranteed depths that a specific Rolex could withstand in water. There are 8 anchors, to be attached to Rolexes that are guaranteed to withstand 660 ft. There is one anchor, to be attached to a Rolex (marked with a green emblem) that is guaranteed to withstand 1,000 feet in water.

5) A special Rolex box, quite rare (not strictly for a watch)

Very cool!

All work done in the good ol’ U.S. of A.

Are you suggesting we should see some intervention from Rolex in this?

She had created big mailing list and started spamming people to try and drum up a bidding frenzy on the bracelet. (Which she posted for sale elsewhere.)
