Yes. I bought the black and silver and the Pepsi. Great watches and a lot of fun. Wears smaller than listed but not small. I let a friend talk me into buying the black and silver from me but I am thinking of replacing it. At one time you could get a completely blacked out one directly from Seiko and a gold and black version is also available. If you want a fun watch, this is a good candidate.

Yes. It wore larger than my original Arnie so I sold it.

How much larger? In your pic it looks very close to the same size lug to lug speaking. Now the new version has the big pushers which are excessive, but I can live with. I think Seiko made it larger for the sake of larger, unless the new movement could not fit in the old care or something?

It looks to me like he means it's height on the wrist, looks "taller" like a top-hat, that would be annoying, I had an original Arnie as well but sold it, and if it was taller that would be a problem for me.

It’s big, my wrist is small, but I enjoy my Pepsi version.

Re-pop of the Arnold Seiko

Macy’s has them the cheapest I’ve seen. Last I saw it was $315 and free shipping.

My Arnie re-issue is at Seiko in NJ for repair. Zero charge. I got the update. The screw down pushers are frozen shut! I know it unscrews counterintuitively so that wasn’t the issue

You’re welcome. Good luck with it if you buy and Long Island Watch has a great video on YouTube which shows all the features and how to set the time.

I see. I never had the original but this new version wears more like a gshock. Is large, but light. It gets snagged in my shirt sleeves, often but lug to lug is actually not much larger than a sub. At its price point something I can live with.

But it does beg the question of why did seiko go larger? Was it to House the movement or to make it a piece that can be a gshock alternative because let’s face it, other than the 5600 series, gshocks offerings are all larger than this current piece.

It is a larger watch height wise and length. Luckily it is a light watch. Check out this review regarding specs https://www.fratellowatches.com/seik...selworld-2019/

From your photo it looks like the lume matches on all the hands. On the PADI the minute hand had blue lume if I recall. It was pretty cool.

The new one is a monster, no pun intended. But I am wearing it often. I like the top window for date, etc.

Seems like every re-issue, they add 2 mm or at least make it too big. So original 36mm watch becomes 40 instead of 36mm or even 38mm.

I agree and own one of these and unfortunately have small wrists. However, looking at the post above with the old and new, its not that big of a difference and the lug to lug length about the same as my 16610 (which is the reason I can pull it off with my small wrists). I wonder if its the new movement that created the need for the larger size. The new version is also more water resistant as well.

I wish they did what breitling did with the navi 806, damn near a 1:1 recreation.

I feel like a solar movement, especially a modern one, should be small. The dial itself is the solar panel and is relatively small-- the majority of the real estate of the watch is taken up by the chapter ring, the bezel, and finally the Tuna-esque bezel guard. Anecdotally, held up next to my SKX007, the Arnie is a smaller watch from the bezel inbound. The majority its width is the black plastic bezel guard. Can't say the same for the height

That being said, I love mine. I bought it thinking that I'd flip it immediately if I didn't like its size. I wear the aforementioned SKX or my 16610 daily. Like someone before mentioned, it wears big, but not huge; I'd say thats mostly due to its weight. Its in the realm of G-Shock size or Garmin size. So if you can wear one of those, this will be fine.

It occurred to me that the difference in size may be due to a larger dial. The larger dial allowing for more solar energy to reach the watch. The smaller the surface area, (im no solar engineer) seems less energy and the larger the surface area the larger area to pick up solar energy. So it is plausible that the slightly larger proportions have a functional purpose. I don’t own the old version so can’t measure the actual dial size. But if the dial on the new one is bigger, it would in all likelihood prove my hypothesis.

I went back to macy's site to pull the trigger and unfortunately they cranked the price back up to $473 should have bought when I had the chance.

Just bookmark it and check every so often. They're getting hammered with this Coronavirus insanity so they're wheeling and dealing with sales. Don't worry, it'll be back down.

I bought the Bulova "Surfboard" reissue when they had that big sale, plus I had $10.00 in Macy's Money so I got another $10 off. Nobody has come close to that price even gray market and eBay.

I even bought some new Ralph Lauren dress shirts under $30

Just keep a lookout, I will too.

I think Mimo's jewelry in Cali has one in the last chance section under Seiko's for around $325
