Batgirl vs Credor
Need some advice from you watch experts please.
Currently traveling in Japan, of course had to check out a few watches. I like grandseiko dials, but their cases are just too thick for my liking. I’ve heard of credor, but never saw one in person. I had the chance to see a few up close today, and now I’m contemplating purchasing one. The explorer (214270) is my daily, but if I get the credor, it would replace it as my weekday work watch. So finally, my questions are: 1. Should I wait for the batgirl (which I should be able to get fairly soon) or pull the trigger on the credor (GCLP993) - getting both is NOT an option 2. What do you know about credor quality? 3. Concerns about spring drive or service issues with the credor? 4. I don’t like the typical bling bling, rather something low key and sleeper style. Just any kind of advice or opinions would be appreciated. Pics below for reference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hey OP I would wait! Just reading it seems like you’re going for it to hold off the excitement for the BLNR on Jubilee. Just hang on that bit longer and you’ll be really happy you did.. I’m sharing from experience as I’m 2 years into a BLRO wait myself

Batman and Credor are completely different watches. No way I would replace one with the other.
If you are getting a Batman soon then wait. Difference is day and night. Quote:

Credor, although not my style, is a most excellent timepiece.

Don't settle. EVER. You will most likely regret it. Besides, if I were to contemplate any Credor it would be something very worthwhile having like an Eichi II. |

That’s funny. The Credor is in a different league, but not how you imagine.
The Credor is like a Maybach, the 126710 is like a Range Rover. OP, if you can, check out the Credor Eichi II too while you’re there. I do believe it’s one of the finest watches available. |

Zero worries on quality or spring drive.
Seiko will be able to handle the service (I wouldn’t trust anyone else) You can ignore the 3 year service interval (that’s over spec’d). 5 to 10 years is fine. You don’t have any worries if you’re buying to keep and not worried about what other people may think. The Rolex wins big on brand recognition, resale value and liquidity. Tough choice, I’d want both. |

As stated above its two different watches. And yes, please do some research before deciding which one goes in which league. You will be supriced.
Batgirl is of course, like many others, a silly name for a watch, but not as silly as some of the reactions to it. Come on people, lets have some fun. Its not your kid, its a watch. Good luck OP. Do not base your choice on which one you can get first. |

Since you say you like under the radar watches, I think you should get the Credor. Beautiful watches and you have nothing to worry about regarding the quality.
That said, you are on the list for the BLNR for a reason and they are very different watches, so be sure in your mind which style you want. |

:) there’s one listed on C24 for US$52k. The Batman would be a great daily beater. The Eichi II wouldn’t get enough wrist time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I like the idea of Credor. I just don’t like the watches.
Spent a long time at Wako and tried on nearly every watch. I loved the Eichi, but not willing to pay the money as there's other watches I like more for the cost. All the others, no... Go with your gut. If you are asking, wait for the BLNR. |

Thanks for all the replies! But wow..... very polarizing answers.
Didn’t know I was going to get heat for calling it the batgirl. Batman, batgirl, new Batman, BLNR....as long as you can indicate which watch you’re talking about, I think it’s fine...... don’t want to start another stupid debate about calling the 114060 the submariner, not the no date submariner. It’s a watch people! Even more torn after all the replies. I’ve heard many times about the quality and finishing of credor and how one might consider it a class above Rolex. Super torn... Would love to hear from anyone who owns a credor too maybe? :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
