Absence of evidence (in your particular case) is not the same as evidence of absence. We have it on good authority that this is possible. The fact it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it isn't.

very true. when baz / searchart mentioned "It's not like this isn't possible." , i gave the OP benefit of the doubt. additionally, its not like he's telling another "AD demanded my flipped watch" story.

I have never worried about entering any pool or hot tubs with my two tone sub, and I have gone into many hotel Jacuzzi etc., wish you could find out what caused the problem so we can look out for it. Please update as you learn more about the status of your watch.

For my own peace of mind, I’d take another piece of gold jewelry into that same hot tub for the same amount of time and see what results I get.

I can tell you as a result of this thread, I will be more careful wearing my watch to a hot tub in future.

I agree, something like a gold day date maybe? Some forum members may wish to send their gold watches to the OP, to see what results he gets.

It is quite probable that the bracelet isn’t oem. OP can you confirm if the watch was bought new? I’ve seen cheap gold plate turn this color after contact with chemicals.

So Bas, if this watch ended up on your work bench how would you get the yellow gold color back? Sand and Polish or some other cleaning agent to remove the oxidation? |

I would expect RSC to fix this. No way 30 min. in a hot tub should ruin a Rolex. Best luck to the OP.

Couple of thoughts come to mind reading this thread,
Sorry to see this happen to your DJ Did the water in the hot tub affect your skin ? Was anyone in the tub wearing fake tanning agent that could have washed off and discoloured the gold ? |
