It looks fabulous. I would take it over a bog standard 15202 any day of the week lol.

Contact clearwater (or wherever their main center in florida is) for a 1.5 link. They've had slight variations on the bracelet throughout the years so they need to know the exact one you have. And cheaper than what people ask for the link on here. Pricey thoufh at around 250 or something like that when I got mine a few years ago. Weird that for my grand seikos I removed both 0.6 links but had to get a 1.5 for the 15202 and 5711.

Hey guys! Love the 15202 dream watch! I have an opportunity to buy it however I was wondering if I could get your opinions. I am worried something is wrong with the watch.

2015 pre-owned 2 owners, it’s a overseas dealer, seller claims has box and service papers but no purchase receipt, willing to authenticate at AP boutique with me.

however, he changed the bezel (is there any reason to do so?), had the bracelet lightly polished, claims all at AP boutique with servicing papers. Asking price seems reasonable at 41-42K USD. Would you guys feel uncomfortable if the bezels been changed and bracelet lightly polished? Would I know if the movement has an issue / repaired if I go to the AP boutique to verify?

Thank you all so much omg I so hope to own one of this and join the club.

I would stay away and keep looking. At these prices I would rather pay more and have confidence you’re getting something without issues. Too many question marks for me especially a bezel change. That alone would raise a red flag for me. Good luck. It’s an incredible piece.

My watch, and specifically the bezel, is in mint condition (never polished), but my understanding is that it can easily lose it’s shape if polished a couple times. If my bezel ever lost it’s shape, I’d likely replace it. I think the watch should hold it’s value with a replaced bezel, if that was the case.

However, not sure why this would be needed in only 5 years. I’d want to know the story behind that. Unless I knew and felt comfortable with the story, I’d pass on this watch. At that price, or relatively close to it, you should be able to find one with less risks.

Thank you, here you can see the rose gold bracelet and the dial shine very differently omitting a very different color depending on the lighting

For $62k!! These are skyrocketing in price, up almost 50% in 2 months. Hopefully these keep bridging the gap with the 5711.

I'm not sure if I would brag about having spent $62k for steel jumbo. Maybe better to enjoy it quietly.

I am with you. I don’t understand the current delta in price at all. Short term spread will only be more severe if 5711 discontinuation rumors are true. Still doesn’t change my sentiment that 15202 ought to be close to par with 5711.

True. Any incoming pics of the Jumbo are fun. Perhaps the new owner (if acquired through TRF) simply posts an incoming with pics, without reference as to whether acquired via AP Boutique/AD v. Grey.

Yup, I think the 15202 ST is only gonna go up in price. For now, let’s just enjoy some cool pics and how chameleon the dial is.

Anyone else notice a spike in 15202ST prices? Perhaps residual of 5711/1A discontinuation. Still, as others have mentioned here, the delta between the Jumbo and Nautilus (even with discontinuation) is perplexing to me.

Don’t really watch resale prices. Price appreciation is not how I appreciate my Jumbo. :-)

I've noticed the same. I paid market price for my 15202ST in 2019, which at the time was $39,000. I just ran the numbers and at the time I paid a 47% premium over retail (including tax). With the price increase on the retail side, the price increase would now only be 25%. In addition, the market value of the watch is now conservatory $55,000, meaning the watch is actually worth 41% over what I paid in 2019. Altogether I'm happy I bough the watch then as I would have had to paid a lot more to acquire the watch today. Even if AP eventually allocated one to me, let's say in 2021 or 2022, the premium I paid would probably be around 20% for 2-3 years of additional ownership and enjoyment. I don't plan on ever selling the watch so resale value isn't as important either.

Absolute right way to look at it. And decision made easier going grey if you (as in my case) don’t have an established AP Boutique relationship.

Why are you guys surprised the 15202 and 5711 have such a big price gap difference? I got a 15202 at retail waiting only 1 year fairly easily from a boutique.

The 5711 is next to impossible to get for a new customer. That's why the second hand value is that much higher than a 15202.

Curious when you got that 15202 and if it was your first new AP. Today is likely very different from only 1 or 2 years ago just like in case of the 5711. I got a 5711 blue as a new customer in 2018 after waiting 2.5 years. A few years earlier it would have been much easier and today it might not happen at all.
