Anyone thinking about getting one of the new Speedmaster in PM?
Curious if anyone is considering the new Moonwatch is Sedna or Canopus?
Seems really hard for Omega to get people to plunk down the money for a precious metal watch when the stainless variants are so abundant. Only brands that seem to be able to really sell a lot of precious metal watches are the ones where stainless steel is hard to come by (Rolex, Patek, AP). What do you all think? |

The yellow gold Apollo 11 speedmaster looks stunning and would be my vote for a PM speedmaster. I also really like the color of the Sedna gold vs Rolex everose, which looks too pink to me. Can’t really compare to a Patek or AP though, as the price point and level of finishing differs. Plus, I like Pateks on leather.

I think they’re stunning. I aspire to own an all Sedna/pink/rose gold watch on full bracelet some day. I just think they look so warm and good.
Anyone know what makes the Canopus so much more expensive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Agree with you on that. AP rose gold is second to none.

I heard that it was the amount of palladium used, but today my AD said the amount of platinum used. I just don't know what to believe at this point but the thing is overpriced.

I like the 2 new ones but they are expensive and the moonshine gold Apollo 11 seems like it was good value in comparison (if a £30k+ watch can be good value).
That’s where my money would go, or as above another brand. |

Sedna is tempting me... between that and a 116505 Ivory dial....

Wishful longing is a better way to describe my thoughts. Maybe some day I'll put a plan in place to make it happen, but I don't have the discretionary dough in my pocket.
From the current catalog, would love to have this one... |

For me, the PM Speedmaster I would want is:
https://www.omegawatches.com/watches...nshine/product It's so nice, I can overlook the slightly cheesy "Au750" on the dial.... ;-) |

Omega and PM are not for me. They do such a good job with SS/Titanium/Ceramic that I would own significantly more watches from them before I steeped out and got a PM one.

I opted for the Daytona after much too’ing and fro’ing.
I’m delighted with it, but still hankering after the Sedna Speedy

I like both pm speedys, but I think the movement not being in gold breaks the deal at that price point, for me anyway.
