I have owned both and only have the SS models left. I prefer the clean look of the SS and as they say, "It is what it is", and the SS is a or the hot model right now and the way it looks, forever. I think you can do better on the SS price but not by much. If YG is where you see yourself then find a better example. Let us know what you decide.

I am in the camp of buying a PM model which is newer and in better condition. I would wait and just buy one new when you are able. I would pass on the SS at that price out of principle. Why support that inflated market.

Don't pay grey market prices for Rolex, it just encourages the profiteering. I am willing to bet that there are ADs who sell to grey market flippers and take a cut of the extra markup.

It's no secret that I love the black ceramic 500, but not at $27K.

I'd go YG, but not that particular example. You'll likely have to pay a few $K more to get a nice condition YG Daytona.

Pass on both at that price. They are soooo different from each other.

Based on your existing collection, SS black dial. I only pay msrp so I wouldn't do the deal.

At those prices, I'd quickly take the YG Daytona over the SS. Assuming it's in acceptable condition, can't tell by that one blurry photo.

I don't see the poll though...

I would say that

if you are willing to pay double SS Daytona's retail
I would suggest you to add some thousand
and buy either a brand new WG or YG Daytona.
They have same movement as the steel piece has.
As to comes to that older piece it is up to you. Those are
beautiful watches.

Think about which suits your lifestyle and current collection better.

Personally, I love the SS Daytonas, but for near even cost..I’d go PM. I refuse to pay 2X retail for any watch.

Both are nice, it would be a tough choice

Others may have different opinions but that thing has been worn seriously hard.

I would probably look for another example. But I would still take a YG over a steel without any hesitation.

I'd only take the steel at retail.

I'd take YG over steel at the same price, but not with that dial for me personally.

No to the black ceramic at that price; No to the YG at any price.
